Paddy Dow looks set to follow Paddy Dangerfield as ripe for SuperCoach picking: Chat live with The Phantom

WE all know about Patrick Dangerfield but there was another Paddy D who impressed in his first JLT Series match on Wednesday. And he wasn’t the only young star to showcase his scoring potential. Re-cap the live chat with The Phantom.

PADDY D’s are just made for SuperCoach.

We all know how good Patrick Dangerfield is but last night Carlton’s top draft pick Paddy Dow impressed in his first hitout as a Blue, finishing with 13 disposals, two goals and 66 points, playing through the midfield.

And he wasn’t the only rookie to catch The Phantom’s eye.

St Kilda’s two first-round picks Hunter Clark and Nick Coffield were standouts in the JLT Series match at Ikon Park.

Coffield, last year’s No. 8 pick, tallied 20 disposals and 66 SuperCoach points in a composed display at half-back but it was Clark, who was taken one pick earlier, who really made his mark.

The 186cm midfielder’s work in traffic was outstanding and he was very efficient with the ball, recording 12 disposals at 91 per cent, without a clanger. Clark added two goals and one goal assist to finish with 82 points.

During the AFLX team-mate David Armitage compared Clark’s attributes to Bulldog star Marcus Bontempelli.

And it’s definitely there.

Speaking of Armitage, the 29-year-old showed he is back to full fitness and ready to go in 2018, registering a game-high 8 clearances and 14 contested possessions — the second-most on the ground.

And Armitage, who finished with 130 SuperCoach points from 24 disposals, only played 71 per cent game time.

A 195cm key-forward was one of the Blues’ best, finishing with 20 disposals, five marks, two goals and 120 points.

Oh, wait, sorry, that was just midfield beast Patrick Cripps who split his time between the midfield and forward-line.

You should already have Cripps but what about Armitage? Did he do enough to convince you he’s worth the punt at $310k?

And how many top-priced rookie midfielders can we fit in?

I know you changed your team overnight and that’s on top of the changes you made after last weekend’s games.

So join me back here at midday (SA time)/12.30pm (AEDT) and tell me about them. The Phantom is here to help.
