Raygun linked with lucrative appearance on I’m a Celeb

Fresh off her Olympics and then Logie Awards appearances, Raygun has now been linked with a possible next move.

Raygun’s next move could be a regular place on Aussie TV screens.

Rachael Gunn, who soared to notoriety with her widely mocked appearance in breaking’s debut at the Paris Olympic Games, has been one of the country’s most talked about figures ever since.

The 36-year-old broke her silence last week and insisted she gave her all in the competition and asked for the harrassment of her “family, friends, the breaking community” to end.

It followed worldwide reaction to the Olympian’s routine, which received commentary from entertainment figures like Adele and Jimmy Fallon.

Now, Gunn has reportedly caught the attention of the producers of Channel 10 show “I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!”

The show, which throws a range of celebrities into a campsite and involves a range of challenges and eliminations before a winner is announced, aired its 10th season earlier this year.

Not surprisingly, Gunn is considered a perfect addition for the next series, as a source told New Idea magazine.

“Raygun would be the ideal campmate,” they said.

“The public will want to hear her story in the jungle. Love her or loathe her, she has everyone talking.”

It would be a lucrative move for Gunn, who may want to capitalise on her rapid rise to fame.

Gunn, who made a surprise appearance on Sunday’s Logies Awards with a video tribute to the nominees, is just the type of figure the producers covet.

“It’s these viral moments and water-cooler conversations that IAC will want to capitalise on,” the source added.

Aussie B-girl Raygun was Australia’s representative as the sport debuted on the Olympic stage earlier this month.

Busting out the sprinkler, the snake and a kangaroo hop among her moves, Gunn’s performance drew an instant reaction.

“The Aussie B-girl Raygun dressed as a school PE teacher complete with cap while everyone else is dressed in funky breaking outfits has sent me,” added another. “It looks like she’s giving her (opponent) detention for inappropriate dress at school.”

“I could live all my life and never come up with anything as funny as Raygun, the 36-year-old Australian Olympic breakdancer,” someone else said.

The judges agreed, failing to award her a single round in her three appearances.

Gunn, the Oceania continental champion, also won plenty of new fans with her self-deprecating style, but the judges – and most of the world – saw it differently.

She was a lamb to the slaughter when taking on world champ and No. 2 ranked breaker “Nicka” from Lithuania, but she handled herself superbly in the aftermath.

“I am super excited to be part of bringing breaking to the world,” she said after her Olympic debut.

“It is such a phenomenal atmosphere here. It is such an amazing experience and it is a privilege to get this opportunity.”

She also explained the motivation behind some of her clunkier moves.

“All my moves are original,” she said.

“Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry.

“Sometimes it speaks to the judges and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing and it represents art. That is what it is about.”
