Hollywood star Tom Cruise is reportedly set to be part of an epic stunt to close out the Paris Olympics.
As the baton gets passed to Los Angeles for 2028, US reports suggest the Mission Impossible star will be abseiling down from the top of Stade de France and landing on the stadium field and carrying the official Olympic flag.
There will then be a recorded film with Cruise on an aeroplane flying with the Olympic flag from France to Los Angeles, where he skydives down to the Hollywood sign.
It will be “a major Hollywood production”, a source told TMZ.
Cruise has been one of the most active celebrities at the Games, appearing at the opening ceremony, the swimming and the gymnastics.
The idea is said to have come from Cruise himself having been involved in past Olympic ceremonies — in 2004 he helped carry the torch through Los Angeles ahead of the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
The closing ceremony will take place in Paris on August 11.
