Eddie McGuire went to work in Paris with a skip in his step after Collingwood survived a thriller against arch-rivals Carlton.
McGuire, who is hosting the Olympics for Channel 9, was at a work lunch for clients on Saturday when he decided to call the final minute and a half of the action off his phone.
In video circulating on social media, McGuire erupts when Carlton’s Mitch McGovern’s kicked the ball out on the full to seal the Magpies’ three point victory in Scott Pendlebury’s 400th match.
“He’s missed it, he’s kicked it out on the f … ing full,” McGuire said.
He then broke out into a rousing rendition of the club song, Good Old Collingwood Forever.
McGuire had told Paris Confidential he wanted to hold a Pendlebury in Paris watch party.
“It’s been wonderful and watching the Olympics happen in real time has been unbelievable,” he said.
“In among all that Pendles plays his 400th and I’m thinking of holding an outdoor Eiffel Tower viewing. A lot of Olympic athletes are asking me about it.
“(Today co-host) Sarah Abo is a Collingwood supporter, Kyle Chalmers’ father played for us for a minute so we claim him. It’s a massive occasion.”
After the victory McGuire told us he was off to work, hosting the gold medal events coverage, with “a skip in my step.”
