OLYMPIC gold medallists Mack Horton and Dylan Alcott have hit the stage with Peking Duck to perform the Macarena, all in honour of Triple J’s departing presenters Matt and Alex.
The two Rio stars joined the popular electro music duo at 170 Russell, surprising the outgoing breakfast DJs on the Melbourne leg of their 5 Raves in 5 Days farewell tour.
Alcott, just crowned tennis’ Newcombe Medallist after winning two gold medals at the Paralympic Games earlier this year, is renowned for his crowd surfing antics.
He and Horton — who won gold in the 400m freestyle at Rio — performed the MACKarena with other special guests.
Joining Peking Duk at the event were Ivan Ooze, Illy and Vera Blue, along with other denizens of the music scene.
Matt and Alex announced on-air, last month, that they would be winding up at the end of the year.
“It’s very sad ... we haven’t been pushed, we’re jumping,” co-host Alex Dyson told listeners this morning.
“It’s absolutely amicable, it’s just deciding that we’re going to move on to different things,” Matt Okine added.
