Punted by Wests Tigers, sacked from Canterbury, dropped by Manly... twice.
Sea Eagles centre Moses Suli knows he is on his final warning.
The powerful Tongan has managed to bounce back from another discipline issue and will face Canberra in Sunday’s big match at Lottoland.
“I have been booted from other clubs and I’m pretty sure this is my last chance,” Suli told The Saturday Telegraph.
When focused, Suli can be devastating. When distracted, he finds trouble.
Suli signed a three-year contract with the Tigers in 2017 yet was released for disciplinary reasons just a year later.
He was quickly signed by Canterbury but had his deal terminated after just 28 days.
Suli has twice been dropped by Manly, most recently for a round four match against Souths for what the Sea Eagles called “failing to meet the club’s disciplinary standards.”
“There have been some stupid decisions that I have made. I have to learn from them and do better,” Suli said.
“I don’t want to look back — I just want to look forward. I’ve got to put my head down, get everything done and do the best I can for the team.
“I have been doing the best I can on the field and also off the field. I’ve been doing well, there is a great bunch of blokes here who keep me motivated.”
Asked why he was dropped for the Rabbitohs match, Suli was noncommittal, only saying: “Just personal things but I was told not to put it out in the media. I can’t say much about it.
“But I have moved on, 100 per cent, and am happy I am back playing footy.”
And Manly want him back playing too.
Suli was relaxed when interviewed by The Daily Telegraph, joking around with teammate Addin Fonua-Blake.
“I am loving it here at Manly, have ever since I have been here. Hopefully I can stay here as long as I can,” he said.
“Des (Hasler) being here has helped me a lot and I am happy to stay here if he wants me here. I have been happy with the way I have been playing. I want to keep it up and play consistent footy.
“I have been training the best I can and trying to put my best foot forward for the team on game day.”
Suli will face Canberra’s Jarrod Croker on Sunday.
“He is a good player. I was up against him last year and he got the better of me. Hopefully I can do a job and hopefully we can get the win.”
Manly officials are hoping for a strong turnout given Sea Eagles fans are constantly asking the NRL for more Sunday afternoon games at Brookvale.
