Dual international Niall Williams-Guthrie will be back for another shot at the NRLW title after Gold Coast confirmed her contract for the 2024 season.
The 35-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Titans earlier this year after retiring from a successful New Zealand Rugby 7s career, but the second season was an option in the club’s favour.
Her quick transition to the 13-person code and dominance in the centres for the grand finalists meant the call was a no-brainer for the Titans.
“It’s hard to believe this was Niall’s debut season playing rugby league,” said coach Karyn Murphy.
“As expected, she has been an ultimate professional on and off the field which has made her such an integral member of our squad and great senior figure in our leadership group.
“She has also quickly become one of the highly feared defensive centres in the NRLW and I’m looking forward to her re-joining us next season in our bid to lift that trophy.”
Williams-Guthrie was since named captain of Samoa in the Pacific Championships, leading them to a 26-12 win over Fiji on Sunday.
The signing comes as action heats up on the market for 2024 NRLW contracts although the timing and structure of the season has yet to be confirmed.
Recently, Isabelle Kelly (Roosters), Raecene McGregor (Dragons) and Teagan Berry (Dragons) all announced extensions with their respective clubs.
