NRL grand final: Michael Ennis’ 30-second high shot in last game

IT was inevitable that, in his last game of rugby league, we would see some of The Menace’s finest work. Turns out it didn’t take him long at all!

IT was inevitable.

Michael Ennis — nicknamed “The Menace” — in his last game of rugby league just couldn’t help himself.

With no fear of suspension, it was a given we would see some of the Menace’s best work during the grand final at ANZ Stadium.

And it took the Sharks veteran a whole 30 seconds to ruffle some Melbourne feathers.

On the second tackle of the game and with the Storm in possession, young forward Jordan McLean took a hit-up deep inside his defensive half.

Ennis saw his opportunity and shot out of the line to put the hit on.

His arm, though, swung high and caught McLean high around the neck.

Ennis was penalised and the Storm were gifted some easy, early metres.

Ennis was again in the thick of the action when a scuffle broke out after Marika Koroibete whacked Chad Townsend high just five minutes later.

The Storm winger was placed on report, but Koroibete also won’t be worrying about a suspension as he’s off to join rugby union after the grand final.
