LOWLIGHT

The refereeing in the last 10 minutes of the Storm v Knights game. Cameron Smith was allowed to pass off the ground after clearly being tackled. Dale Finucane took a dive after a minor collision and Smith kicked the penalty goal that sealed victory.

PONGA BLOWS IT

Kalyn Ponga is a sensational player and will be even better with more experience. He slaughtered a try against the Storm by ignoring a three-man overlap to run himself at a crucial stage.

ABDO TRUMPS AFL

NRL acting chief executive Andrew Abdo will appear on Q&A on the ABC tonight in a show that is focused on the future of sport and the challenges post COVID-19. The AFL’s Gill McLachlan had agreed to do it, too, but pulled out.

Catch you Monday at 6.30pm on NRL 360 with Ben Ikin and Paul Kent on Fox Sports to preview the postponed Bulldogs v Roosters game, which is being shown live and exclusively at 7pm. The great Matty Johns will join the panel to dissect the game before the match, at half-time and again at full-time.
