Melbourne Storm will be without it’s best two hookers for Saturday’s blockbuster clash with Parramatta after Harry Grant tested positive to Covid-19.

Already without Brandon Smith, who suffered a broken hand in the Round 1 win over Wests Tigers, Grant will be in isolation for the next seven days forcing coach Craig Bellamy to find a third dummy-half in three games.

Grant was best on ground for Storm in the golden-point win over South Sydney last Thursday, his first game for the season.

“After failing a rapid antigen test before entering Storm headquarters this morning, Grant was sent for a PCR test and put in isolation,” a clubs statement said.

“His positive result was returned after the deadline passed for the lodgement of this week’s team with the NRL.”

“He did not take part in this morning’s training session and will have to isolate for the next seven days.”

Grant’s absence comes after Storm co-captain Jesse Bromwich was forced to miss Round 1 after a family member tested positive.

Storm and undefeated through the opening two rounds and face Parramatta on Saturday afternoon at AAMI Park.

Tyran Wishart, the son of NRL legend Rod, looms as the likely replacement for Grant.
