Raiders give new details on NRL star Josh Papali’i’s alleged pub incident
Police are investigating an incident allegedly involving Raiders star Josh Papali’i at a Canberra pub.

Police are investigating an incident allegedly involving an NRL star player in Canberra.
ACT Police confirmed officers were looking into what happened at a licenced premises in the city in the early hours of Monday.
Raiders prop Josh Papali’i was at the venue at the time.
While not directly saying what Papali’i’s involvement was, ACT Police said in a statement two men allegedly smashed glasses and refused to leave.

No charges have been laid.
“About 3.10am on Monday, 16 September 2024, police responded to a request from a licensed premises regarding two men who were behaving aggressively, smashing glasses, and refusing to leave,” the statement reads.
“After engagement with police, the men left, however a short time later, re-entered the premises.
“A third member of the group escorted the two men out of the premises again, and they departed the location a short time later.
“Enquiries in relation to this matter are continuing, however at this time no charges have been laid.”
The Canberra Raiders released a statement addressing the incident, providing further details on the events that transpired.
The Canberra Raiders are aware of an incident involving Josh Papalii,” the club said.
“Josh and others were asked to leave a Licenced premises in the early hours of Monday morning following attendance by ACT Police.
The club has informed the NRL integrity unit.”
Earlier this season, Masepa Papalii, the wife of Josh Papalii, made headlines when she received a court attendance notice for two counts of common assault related to an alleged altercation at a women’s rugby league game.
Scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on October 10, Masepa Papalii has also been handed a 10-year ban by the league from attending local games.
This ban came after the Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) determined that she had entered the field during a heated match between the West Belconnen Warriors and the Bungendore Kangaroos in the Katrina Fanning Shield on July 14.
