NRL grand final player ratings: Who starred and who flopped in Penrith’s victory over Parramatta

Penrith blew Parramatta out of the grand final contest - but four men stood taller than anyone else on the field. We rate every grand final player.

Panthers beat Eels to win back-to-back NRL titles

The Panthers blew the Eels away with an almost perfect opening 40 minutes, which set up their 28-12 win to secure back-to-back NRL premierships.

Brutal defence by Moses Leota and Liam Martin set the tone early for the Panthers, then powerhouse backrower Viliame Kikau and their backline stars Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o clicked into gear to capitalise on their dominance.

But it was Clive Churchill Medallist Dylan Edwards who stole the show, highlighted by his tackle on Bailey Simonsson, which revived memories of Scott Sattler’s grass-cutting cover tackle on Todd Byrne in the 2003 grand final.

On the flip side, Parramatta’s stars went missing after being blown away in the opening stanza. We rate every grand final player below!
