The City West Falcons will start the 2025 Victorian Netball League campaign with a target on their back again after their championship division three-peat last season.
The most successful team in the VNL since the competition’s inception in 2009, the Falcons have retained a largely settled line-up after their 11-goal win over Boroondara Express in the 2024 grand final.
While the VNL clubs have until the end of January to finalise their playing lists, many teams are already well-advanced with their line-ups for 2025.
There are plenty of Super Netball connections with former Melbourne Vixens and Malawi goaler Mwai Kumwenda headlining the signings for Peninsula Waves.
The top state competition is also scattered with Vixens and Mavericks training partners, while the Mavs’ general manager of netball operations Shae Bolton-Brown will also suit up.
Former Diamonds goaler Erin Bell will take charge as coach of Casey’s championship division team, while another ex-Australian defender Sharni Norder will coach Southern Saints’ 23 and under team.
This is how all the VNL Championship division teams are shaping up for the 2025 season, which will start next March, with one game live streamed every week via Kommunity TV.
