Australian Jack Miller has given a fan a moment to remember with a classy act after he finished third at the German MotoGP on the weekend.

Reigning MotoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo extended his lead in the overall standings with a commanding performance despite feeling unwell.

The Yamaha rider dominated in scorching temperatures at the Sachsenring with fellow Frenchman Johann Zarco finishing second and Miller third.

It was his third win this season and Quartararo claimed back-to-back victories having also won the Catalan MotoGP at the start of June.

Quartararo snatched the lead at the first corner away from Francesco Bagnaia, who started in pole position, and never looked back, but later revealed he had suffered with illness all weekend.

Miller put in a brilliant ride to finish third, having nearly crashed on the same bend where Bagnaia exited.

“I had an eventful race and nearly crashed,” he said.

“I was happy with the job I did, I put everything out there.”

But it was a moment after the race that had fans and viewers praising Miller.

Before the race started, a fan was shown on the TV broadcast in the crowd with a poster that read, ‘Jack, wanna exchange gloves for a T-shirt?’.

The camera then cut to Miller in the pits, who had clearly seen the fan and responded by smiling and waving a glove.

After the race finished, the 27-year-old drove around to where the fan was sitting, hopped off his bike and delivered his racing glove to the spectator, who slapped Miller on the back and waved his arms in delight.

The commentator said: “That man thankfully did get the glove. Absolute superstar, Jack Miller.

“When you’ve raced in a 41-minute, 30-lap MotoGP race in those conditions, to remember that fan shows you what a top man Jack Miller is.

“Look at that fan! That’s a day he’ll remember for the rest of his life. Jack Miller, riding off circuit to go and give him that glove.

“Absolutely awesome stuff. That’s why we love MotoGP, brilliant to see.”

“It was probably one of the hardest races physically I’ve ever done,” Miller said.

The result was Miller’s second podium of the year and equalled his best finish.

Miller has struggled this MotoGP season for Ducati and it was announced earlier this month he will be leaving the team to join Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
