DANIEL Ricciardo has once again proven himself to be the king of the Formula 1 podium.
It’s the platform where he’s given the ‘shoey’ to a global audience and after Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix, the always entertaining and fun-loving Australian took things to a new level: by playing a hilarious prank on F1 championship leader Lewis Hamilton.
The F1 world is notoriously cut-throat — think about the fierce rivalries the likes of Hamilton and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel have cultivated over the years — but Ricciardo’s carefree spirit clearly cannot be broken.

The 28-year-old seized his opportunity when Hamilton left his phone unguarded - and seemingly unlocked - having taken it to the podium to document the celebratory scenes with his five million Instagram followers.
But Ricciardo had other ideas, immediately taking a serious of goofy selfies to add to Hamilton’s Instagram story while the British star was fulfilling some media obligations.
Hamilton eventually recovered his phone and the pair took a more conventional selfie for the fans.
