EPL giant Manchester City links with St Laurence’s College

English Premier League Champions Manchester City has teamed with a major Brisbane college to launch QLD’s only Manchester City Football School.

One of the world’s greatest sporting clubs will have a presence in Queensland with English Premier League Champions Manchester City and St Laurence’s College today announcing the launch of the state’s only Manchester City Football School.

Using the coaching philosophy and methodology of Manchester City, the Manchester City Football School will provide “authentic and creative’’ football programs for students.

St Laurence’s is a renowned sporting hot spot which is the 2021 AIC Australian football, the 2022 First XV rugby premiers and the reigning First XI Football premiers.

It could field an old boys full of Wallabies and Queensland Reds representatives, but also has as old boys the likes of Cooper Cronk, Will Zillman (league), Harry Sharp (Brisbane Lions AFL) and Zac Young (QAFL, Qld under 19s), and in soccer Joel Anich (professional football Italy) and Matt Green (formerly Sydney FC) as high achievers.

Linking with Manchester City was a further boon for the college community and ambitious young footballers.

Enrolments for the program will open soon, with interested players encouraged to attend an

information evening on September 7.

The partnership’s official commencement will take place in January 2023 for St Laurence’s College students and will expand to offer programs for the wider community later in the year.
