Milwaukee Brewers player has the best laugh in baseball
THIS baseball star always wanted to make headlines, he just never wanted it to be for something that made people laugh so hard.

BRETT “Maverick” Phillips laughs.
He laughs at almost everything — and it’s beautiful.
The Milwaukee Brewers right-fielder, who goes by his middle name Maverick to avoid a clash with his dad Brett, has never played a Major League Baseball game, but right now he’s the biggest star in the sport — and it’s all thanks to something called Mum Joke Monday.
The 21-year-old from Florida is a talented baseballer, spending four seasons bouncing around the minor leagues and AAA-level, but it’s no secret he owes his fame to that suffocated gasp he calls his laugh.
In a regular video clip that appears on the Milwaukee Brewers’ website, Phillips was told a series of ‘mum jokes’ to see if they were knee-slappers or eye-rollers.
How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?
Answer: Ten-tickles
Why did the Stadium get hot after the game?
Answer: All the fans left.
Why did the bicycle fall over?
Answer: Because it was too tired.
What did the duck say to the bar tender?
Answer: Put it on my bill.
These are not ordinarily dazzlingly witty one-liners, but in front of Phillips they are somehow transformed into comedy gold.
Phillips’ laugh is just as popular among his teammates as it is with fans.
At the Brewers’ recent team photo day, Phillips’ teammates couldn’t resist trying to coax out one more donkey guffaw in the middle of his photo shoot. It’s common knowledge for anyone who knows Phillips that you only need to do enough to get a tiny giggle out of him before he’s laughing uncontrollably.

Unfortunately, Phillips never saw his 15-minutes of fame coming.
He claims he always wanted to do something special enough to make it into Sports Illustrated — and thanks to that trademark cackle, he has now achieved this.
Good morning everyone, I apologize if I gave anyone nightmares because of my laugh last night. That was not my intention. #Sorry

Right now he simply wants to earn a spot on the Brewers’ playing roster when their MLB season begins on April 4 against the San Francisco Giants.
Phillips was on Thursday AEDT scratched from a Brewers’ pre-season game because of a sore left oblique — it was not the result of a strained laughing muscle as many on social media suggested.
That honking vacuum is still perfectly intact.
