Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku in X-rated rant at critics after calls for him to be dropped

CRITICS have called for the out-of-form United striker to be dropped — and instead of responding with consistent performances on the park, he’s taken to social media to hit back instead.

ROMELU Lukaku has hit back at critics in an X-rated rant after calls were made for the Manchester United striker to be dropped.

The Belgian has come under fire after going six games without a goal in all competitions.

Some frustrated fans called for him to be left out of Jose Mourinho’s starting XI before the 3-2 win over Newcastle.

On Tuesday night, Lukaku wrote on Snapchat: “To be honest... I don’t really give a f*** about what people say.

“People will talk s*** regardless what you’re trying to achieve in life.”

Lukaku, 25, is first-choice striker with both United and Belgium, who he is currently linked up with ahead of their UEFA Nations League double-header against Switzerland and Holland over the next week.

He scored four goals to help his nation finish third at the World Cup this summer.

But before the tournament the forward claimed “some people in my own country want to see me fail”.

Lukaku said: “If you weren’t with me when I had nothing, then you can’t really understand me.

“When I went to Chelsea and I wasn’t playing, I heard them laughing at me. When I got loaned out to West Brom, I heard them laughing at me.

“But it’s cool. Those people weren’t with me when we were pouring water in our cereal.”

Lukaku goes into the international break on the back of an essential win over Newcastle which eased the pressure on United.

He admitted a weight had been lifted ahead of Belgium duty.

Lukaku said: “I can go to Belgium with a cool feeling [after winning].

“But at the end of the day, we are not where I want us [United] to be, so I’m going to go to Belgium, hopefully do well for my country, but knowing that I have two important games for my team coming back.

“I’m a really bad loser, so coming into the game [against Newcastle], I really was anxious, because I wanted to win.

“Thank God we won the game and now the important thing with the international break is that nobody gets injured.

“When we come back, we have two important games where, if we have good results, we can move forward.”
