REPLAY: NAB League AFL – Northern Knights vs Oakleigh Chargers

Western Bulldogs father-son prospect Sam Darcy has further enhanced his credentials with another eye-catching display for Oakleigh Chargers in the NAB League.

The son of former Western Bulldogs ruckman and current club director Luke Darcy, the 17-year-old was a standout performer in a 42-point loss to the Northern Knights.

Darcy, who trained with the Bulldogs during pre-season, is a 197cm key position player who can play at either end of the ground and stood tall against the Knights with his intercept marking across the backline.

He also went forward and kicked one goal.

Recruiters view the athletic and skilful Darcy as a top-five draft pick this year.

Collingwood father-son prospect Nick Daicos (son of Peter) again found plenty of the footy for the Chargers through the midfield and was another shining light from the match.

North Melbourne father-son prospect Jackson Archer (son of Glenn) also did some nice things for the Knights in defence.

Jason McCormick finished with four goals for the Knights.

A 183cm midfielder-forward, Daicos has averaged 35.5 disposals, six inside-50s, six clearances, 2.3 goals, 8.5 score involvements and 164 KFC SuperCoach points in his first four NAB League matches (not included this contest) this season.

Darcy is considered a top-five draft prospect as a 197cm forward-ruckman who is viewed as a player who could develop into a key defender at AFL level.

This weekend marks a return to the field for Melbourne-based NAB League teams, which have not played for a month due to Melbourne’s latest lockdown.
