A big weekend of Aussie rules across NSW and ACT saw an 18-goal haul, an umpire create a piece of history and the region’s newest AFLW recruit.

BROKEN HILL
While West sits at the bottom of the ladder, they will receive a huge boost this weekend with former AFL player Mitch Robinson having a kick.
Robinson played 247 games with Carlton and Brisbane. West takes on Central this Saturday.
There was just the one senior men’s game at the weekend, with South downing North 13.15 (93) to 6.5 (41).
Brock Elliott kicked four goals and Marc Purcell had three in the victory.

Britt Tangey kicked four goals for North in a 59-9 victory over Central, while Abbey Stevens had a haul of nine in South’s 126-0 win over West.

CANBERRA
Recently umpire Scott Gurney earned his place in officiating folklore.
In the Tuggeranong-Eastlake fixture, the boundary umpire became just the sixth official to reach the 300-game mark, and the first time a boundary umpire has reached that mark.
Gurney made his umpiring debut back in 1994, with the likes of current AFL umpires Michael Barlow and Ben Fely taken under his wing.
AFL Canberra also celebrated its big names at its Hall of Fame evening.
Rebecca Hall, Leigh McPhan, Elise O’Dea, Michael Richardson, Neil Conlan and Peter White were all inducted into the Hall of Fame, with Jack Dorman elevated to legend status.
# In the match of the round, Eastlake remained undefeated after taking down Ainslie 9.12 (66) to 6.7 (43).
A hot start saw them lead by 23 at the end of the first term and by 40 coming into the final quarter, with an Ainslie surge in the last proving far too late.
It means Eastlake now has a three-game gap to three teams on 20 competition points.
Jack Jovanovic and Lachlan Mertz had five goals for Queanbeyan (defeated Gungahlin 132-53).
Matthew Stephens booted four for Belconnen as they overcame Tuggeranong 111-83.

Queanbeyan put together it’s most complete four-quarter performance of the season with a 23.12 (150) to 2.0 (12) thrashing of Gungahlin.
The total marked the largest score of the season and most goals kicked in a game in 2025, led by an eight-goal haul from Billie Hamilton, who took her season tally to 29.
Charlotte Canavan had four for Ainslie in an 87-point victory over Eastlake, a total matched by Hannah Wallett of Belconnen as they defeated Tuggeranong 87-22.

CENTRAL WEST
The Bathurst Bushrangers were unforgiving as they kicked 31 goals in a 195-point defeat of Orange.
Harry Knight had six goals and Macson Alexander and Huge Templeton both had five as they cracked the 200-point mark.
Dubbo moved into outright second in a big way by defeating the Bathurst Giants by 133 points.
Jake Egan had his biggest tally of the season with 12 goals.

Dubbo remained undefeated with a thumping 16.13 (109) to 1.2 (8) win over the Bathurst Giants.
The Demons led at every change, finishing strong with a 10-goal second half, led by Molly Mayall with seven.
Orange climbed into third after defeating Cowra by 29 points, with Sasha Bock kicking a pair of goals.

HUME
Holbrook took down CDHBU in the match of the round, coming out on top 17.7 (109) to 14.11 (95).
The Brookers stretched their four-point halftime lead in a 33-point advantage coming into the final term. before five goals almost saw the Power storm home to victory.
Ben Fulford was outstanding for Holbrook with nine goals.
Lockhart move further ahead of Howlong 9.7 (61) to 5.10 (40).
The Dmeons kicked away in the fourth quarter to move them up into a share of third, with William Marsh kicking three goals.
Henty turned on its best performance of the season with a 182-31 win over Murray, with Shannon Terlich kicking six goals.
Jindera created a gap on the table after downing Brock/Burrum 86-13 on the back of three goals from Trent Castles.
Osborne kicked 14 goals to one in the second half to smash Culcairn 126-34, with George Alexander booting seven goals to go with nine in round nine.
Rand-Walbundrie-Walla had nine individual goalscorers as they defeated Billabong 109-36.

HUNTER CENTRAL COAST
Warners Bay handed Nelson Bay its first defeat of the season in a thrilling 11.9 (75) to 10.10 (70) victory.
The Marlins led narrowly coming into the final quarter, but three goals was enough to swing it back the way of the Bulldogs.
Zac Munz had three for Warners Bay.
Cardiff caused an upset, downing Terrigal Avoca 87-61.
The Panthers led by 25 after one quarter, before the Hawks kicked 11 of the next 14 goals to storm to victory, with Ryan Bonham’s five goals proving crucial.
Newcastle City hammered Killarney Vale 132-10 after five goals from Jordan Dear, while Maitland picked up its first win of the year to defeat The Entrance Bateau Bay 79-69.
The Saints held off a late charge from the Blues, with Billy Ellis, Jack Ellis and Riley Newstead all kicking two goals.

Cardiff overcame a wayward day with the boot to defeat Killarney Vale 3.1 (33) to 1.3 (9).
Melina Ayres kicked two goals as they powered to another win.
Warners Bay edged out Terrigal Avoca 37-19 with Amy Pittman kicking three goals and The Entrance Bateau Bay downed Singleton 33-9 after three goals from Imogen Gray.

NORTH COAST
Coffs took down Port Macquarie in a top of the table clash, hammering the Magpies 14.15 (99) to 3.9 (27).
Riley Dagger continued his hot run of form with six goals, making it 17 from his last three games.
STANDINGS: Coffs 16, Port Macquarie 12, Sawtell/Toormina 8, Macleay Valley 8, Grafton 4
It was Pride Round on the North Coast, with Sawtell/Toormina escaping past Northern Beaches in a 3.5 (23) to 3.2 (20) thriller.
The Blues kicked the only goal of the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Elaine Thornycroft’s three goals for the Saints.
Coffs was on fire in a 61-6 win over Port Macqurie, led by two goals from Katika Adams.
WOMEN’S STANDINGS: Coffs 22, Sawtell/Toormina 18, Northern Beaches 12, Port Macuqarie 0
NORTH WEST
Tamworth Kangaroos had a huge day in front of goal, trouncing New England by 117 points.
Andrew McDonald kicked six goals and Rhett Graham four as they remained in the hunt for top spot.
Inverell took down Guunedah 148-27.
STANDINGS: Inverell 20, Swans 16, Kangaroos 16, New England 4, Gunnedah 0
Inverell stayed strong on top of the ladder after smashing Gunnedah 10.8 (68) to 0.1 (1).
It was a major statement against the second-placed team, with Katrina Doak kicking five goals.

NORTHERN RIVERINA
Hillston produced a stellar fourth quarter to down Tullibigeal 17.18 (120) to 12.12 (84).
The Swans kicked six goals to one in the final quarter to turn a two-point advantage into a 36-point win.
Campbell Braneley and Sam Fensom both kicked four goals.
Lachlan Robertson produced one of the best individual goalkicking efforts of the season, booting 18 goals for Lake Cargelligo in a 122-point defeat of West Wyalong.
After 54 goals in 11 games for the Tigers last season, Robertson showed he is well on the way to beating that in his first outing for the club in 2025.

RIVERINA
Turvey Park edged out MCUE in the match of the round, edging out the Goannas 15.10 (100) to 14.7 (91).
The two were barely separated by more than two scores, with the Bulldogs able to pull out enough late to stay in third.
Lewis Pulver led the way with four goals in defeat.
Murray Stephenson fired with eight goals for the Wagga Tigers in a 52-point defeat of Narrandera.
Marty Boyer had seven for Collingullie Wagga as they crushed Griffith 171-33, while Tom Banuelos and Sidney White both kicked three for GGGM, beating fellow contenders Coolamon by 40.

SAPPHIRE COAST
Pambula was left to lament wayward kicking as they fell to ladder leaders Merimbula 8.8 (51) to 5.11 (41).
The Panthers were in a world of pain trailing by 24 at halftime, before eventually chipping away at the lead.
But a 1.4 final term wasn’t enough to get over the top of the Diggers who hold onto top spot.
Dylan Jodan (Merimbula) and Thomas Bielby (Pambula) both kicked three goals.
Narooma was in an unrelenting mood against Pambula-Eden, crushing the development team 18.13 (121) to 4.8 (32).
An 11-goal second half saw them run right away with the result.
Lachlan Druhan and Michael Talbott both kicked four majors.
STANDINGS: Merimbula 28, Bermagui 24, Pambula 18, Narooma 18, Bega-Tathra 4, Pambula-Eden 0
Bermagui continues to push for the minor premiership after downing Pambula 8.4 (52) to 0.2 (2).
The Breakers got the early jump and never looked back, with Sophie Potts, Helen Rutherford and Katlyn Scott all kicking two goals.
Eden’s accuracy was tested, but they were still too strong for Narooma with a 6.12 (48) to 0.0 (0) defeat.
Jemma Pollock made it 12 goals in five games after booting four.

SOUTH COAST
South Coast talent Ellie Veerhuis gets her chance to shine on the big stage.
The Figtree defender was recently added to Gold Coast’s AFLW list as in injury replacement for Daisy D’Arcy.
Veerhuis caught the eye for the Allies in the National Championships, and has recently linked with UNSW-ES in the AFL Sydney Premier division.
Northern Districts had to fend off a charge from Kiama, eventually coming out on top 11.9 (75) to 8.8 (56).
A spirited third term from the Power saw them boot four unanswered goals to trail by just seven heading into the final quarter.
That’s when the class of the Tigers came to the fore, with Angus Tarpey’s five goals helping them remain undefeated.
Brandon Lagana had an impressive haul of six as Figtree smashed Bomaderry (124-32) and Dan Posch went one better with seven to power Shellharbour City to a 128-70 win over the Bulldogs.
STANDINGS: Figtree 28, Northern Districts 28, Shellharbour City 16, Lions 12, Kiama 8, Bomaderry 4, Bulldogs 0
Wollongong Lions created a two-win gap between them and Kiama after downing the Power 7.7 (49) to 3.0 (18).
It keeps the Lions within touching distance of local rivals Bulldogs and Figtree.
India Patmore impressed with four goals.
Speaking of the Bulldogs, they were able to shut-out Northern Districts 88-0 with Bethanie Durham leading with three goals.
Ashlee Maddern and Isabella Roso both had three as Figtree stayed undefeated after beating Bomaderry by 61 points.

SYDNEY
UTS caused a minor boilover, taking down Sydney University 12.9 (81) to 12.7 (79) at Waverley Oval.
The Bats looked home at three-quarter time, leading by 29 points, before the Students kicked four unanswered goals to storm home.
It wasn’t enough however, with Thomas Charles kicking three for UTS.
Four goals from Nicholas Hey guided Pennant Hills to a 98-46 defeat of Inner West, with St George overcoming East Coast by 17 points after a five-goal haul from Jed Robin.
A big second half saw Manly remain undefeated, defeating UNSW 98-74.
The Wolves stormed home with nine goals in the second half to three from the Bulldogs, resigning them to their second-straight loss.
Trent Dennis-Lane had six goals in the win.
North Shore came from 33 points down to defeat South West Sydney 83-71, led by three goals from Jackson Nelson.

UTS handed Sydney Uni its first defeat of the season with a 7.4 (46) to 3.6 (24) victory at Waverley.
The Bats trailed by eight at halftime, before a six-goal second half saw them power to a win.
Jessica Quade led the way with three goals.
Matilda Eder and Charlotte White had two goals apiece for North Shore in a 98-point win over Parramatta, with Charlee McPherson kicking three goals as East Coast defeated St George by 70.
Manly Warringah led at every change in a 22-13 win over UNSW.
