South Australia’s best young soccer players are ready to show their talent on the big stage as the School Sport Australia U12 national championships kick-off on Monday and you can watch all the action live right here.

KommunityTV will bring you live coverage of 17 matches from Pitch 1 at the Lark Hill Sportsplex in Western Australia across four days of competition.

SA will be sending a boys and a girls team to compete from Monday to Friday, a special opportunity for the young guns of the state after the last two tournaments were cancelled because of the Covid pandemic.

Boys coach Theo Mylonas said his players were excited to test themselves against the nation’s best.

“Having not played a tournament for the last two years we want to show our best against the other states and the boys are all super excited to do that,” Mylonas said.

“The trial and selection process has gone for about nine months, and through that time we’ve worked on becoming a unit and understanding everyone’s role, so I think we’re ready to perform at a high level.”

South Australia will head into the championships with slightly less preparation than other states but Mylonas believed it would make the experience even more valuable for the state’s best juniors.

“We’re playing teams one or two years above us in preparation but it will be a good eye opener to see where we stand against other states,” he said.

“It’s a huge opportunity. It’s going to be massive for the boys and girls teams to not only be able to play against the best, but also see how other teams function and what they need to do to improve.

“We have strong, high-scoring teams going and I’m sure we’ll see some success.”

Live broadcast will begin right here on Monday from 12.30pm ACDT.

South Australia will feature on Tuesday as both the girls and boys take on WA at 2pm and 2.15pm, on Thursday when the boys meet NSW at 11am and again on Friday when the girls take on Victoria #2 at 10.30am and the boys clash with Victoria #2 at 11.45am.
