The Gold Coast Titans know they can compete against the top sides of the HART Premier Netball League Sapphire division but want to take their game to the next level heading into finals.

After securing maximum points in their round 11 and 12 double header victories last weekend they will now meet a Brisbane South Wildcats side who have nothing to lose.

That 4pm Saturday matchup will be followed by Bond University Bull Sharks against Ipswich Jets at 6pm with both games exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV.

With two rounds still to play the Titans have secured their spot in the finals thanks to eight wins, two draws and two losses this season.

Despite sitting third on the ladder, one win behind league leaders Bond University and second placed Kedron-Wavell, Titans head coach Victor Potaka knows his side has room for improvement.

“We had a strong start to the season and have really been tested in the second half, the competition is so strong this year,” he said.

“The games we have lost have allowed us the opportunity to really look at ourselves and have only strengthened our understanding of each other and our processes.

“While I’m proud of what we’ve done so far, I know we still have more to offer and can’t wait to see us hit our potential.”

Both of the Titans’ losses this season have been at the hands of Bond and Kedron-Wavell while their two draws have both been against fourth placed Sunshine Coast Thunder.

“Our aim is pretty black and white, we want to make finals and will be aiming for a top 2 spot,” Potaka said.

Potaka said his side were excited to play close to home and praised the work of the team’s mid-court standout.

“While not officially a home game, it’s always nice to have a game on the Gold Coast,” he said.

“The girls are always happy to play on home turf and in front of our community so we hope to see as many Gold Coast netball fans there.

“Kourt Baird has been doing a great job leading through the mid-court.

“She’s been instrumental in both our defence and attack ends so expect a big game from her.”

The Bull Sharks have maintained the place atop the ladder with an 11th victory of the season coming via a come from behind performance over the Jets.

On the courts of the GC, the Sharks did it the hard way.

Down eight following the first term the Sharks brought the deficit back to two at the big break.

Back in the fight, the Sharks made sure to make amends for their first quarter indiscretions.

Throughout the course of the second half the duo of Kaylin van Greunen and Mia Stower upfront were too much to handle for the Jets; the duo ultimately leading their side to a gritty 75-63 winning margin.

Despite the first two quarters being neck-and-neck (24-21, 41-39) it was what happened in the third where the game was won and lost.

Brisbane South shutdown the Gold Coast’s attack with some neat counter defence, while piling on 21 goals of their own.

Despite a valiant comeback effort by the team in sky blue the Cats came out triumphant in a 74-63 scoreline.
