Defending HART Premier Netball League Sapphire Series champions Ipswich Jets have got their season back on track courtesy of a five point win over Moreton Bay City Pulse.
The Jets overcame a six-point deficit at the end of the first quarter to lodge a 47-42 win on Saturday at Nissan Arena.
Ipswich bookends Naomi Solomona and Lily Gribble were among the best for the Jets, dominating the circle at both ends as the former scored while the latter was a wall in defence.
The Pulse had their chances but they failed to convert while the Jets transitioned with ease.
Meanwhile, powerhouse side Kedron-Wavell Cougars thrashed the Carina Leagues Club Tigers 71-43 on Saturday.
The Tigers were outclassed in the first quarter and trailed 24-7 at the opening break but they did the team did themselves proud with the challenge they put up for the rest of the game.
The Cougars, led by attacking ace Nalani Makunde, were just a class above in offence and as a defensive unit.

PREVIEW
A maiden HART Premier Netball League Sapphire win has Carina Leagues Club Tigers itching to get back out on the court, according to head coach Katie Walker.
After notching just two victories last season, the Tigers are already halfway towards equalling that mark following a promising 10-goal defeat of the Thunder last round.
Keeping the winning streak rolling however will not be easy when they next face a fearsome Kedron-Wavell Cougars outfit on Saturday.
That game, along with the clash between Moreton Bay City Pulse and Ipswich Jets, will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV.
The HPNL season has started with a bang with just one win separating second to seventh on the overall ladder and Walker was conscious every match would provide a stern test.
“We all know that life is better when you have a win and our whole Sapphire squad and staff were very happy with taking points on Saturday but truthfully, our gritty group don’t shift too much in their demeanour or approach no matter our results,” Walker said.
“We want to be better with every session and game and we’ll continue enjoying working very hard and staying forward focused this week and throughout the season.”
Walker said her side was eager for another competitive outing.
“You never expect anything less than a tough, physical, 60-minute game when you come up against the Cougars and we wouldn’t want it any other way,” she said.
“There are no games that won’t challenge you in the HPNL competition and this week will be no different so we can’t wait to get out there on Saturday.”
One of Carina’s new recruits Charlie Preston has been a welcomed addition after a 34-goal effort against the Thunder last round.
“Charlie’s impact on our group on and off the court has been everything we’d hoped for, for both us and more importantly, for her.
“The intensity of training, the pace and physicality of games and the relentless nature of Qld’s HPNL is a big step up for her and she hasn’t disappointed in the slightest.
“She is a pivotal part of our attacking line-up, who fearlessly attacks every game, and her fierce but humble determination to continually learn and grow will only see her get stronger which is incredibly exciting.”
Walker said the injury loss of Maryke Babia was a heavy blow but was proud of how her side has rallied together.
“She injured her ACL in our round two game against the Jets,” Walker said.
“We are obviously all devastated for Maryke but she has handled it with pure grace and positivity so we channel that heart and courage and continue taking our whole squad into every game with us.”
