One state in particular has got off to a flyer on day one of the Futsal National Championships. See who it is and watch the PITCH 1 replays from Day 1.

Queensland have impressed in their opening four matches at the Futsal Nationals Championships streamed on KommunityTV on Monday.

The highlight of them was the youth men’s side defeating tournament hosts Football Victoria in a nailbiter on pitch 7.

With just under two minutes remaining, Maxx Demerutis banged in his second goal of the game to give his side the match winning 4-3 lead.

The run of four wins began with the U16 boys early in the day who recorded a thumping 8-0 win over Football Victoria on pitch 7.

Queensland led 3-0 at halftime before going bigger in the second half with five more goals to win comfortably.

The Queensland U13 side have started well

The Queensland U12 boys navigated through a tricky Football SA early on pitch 1 before dominating the match to win 11-2.

The fourth win for Queensland came on pitch 1 where the U13 boys managed a strong 4-2 win over Football SA.

Roman Cvjeticanin proved dominant, scoring two goals in two minutes to put his side up 4-0 in the first half.

Queensland U13 coach Thirone Correia was impressed with Cvjeticanin’s performance.

“We have a lot of different good players, but today I think Roman did a very good job, and Tom Deegan as well,” he said.

Correia was also pleased with the team’s performance, particularly in the first half.

“It was a pretty good win,” he said.

“It is always a hard win when you have the first game in such a good competition, but we did very well in the first half.”

Queensland are looking big threats in the men's youth division.

Correia, who had been to other national tournaments said Queensland futsal was improving.

“Futsal is getting better in Queensland,” he said.

“I have been to other nationals but I think this nationals, all the teams are really well prepared, so hopefully we keep going and do a good job this year.”
