NSW Thunder might have conceded its first goal in the Under-15 girls division but it mattered little as the sky blues powered on to four-straight wins to start the National Futsal Championships.
The Thunder netted a combined 11 goals across two big wins on Thursday, setting themselves up with an unassailable lead atop Pool A.
They were one of many great stories out of the second day of the national championships at Melbourne’s Parkville Sports Centres.

It is an all-blue affair across the Under-15 divisions with NSW Metro also going two-from-two on Thursday, including a gripping 4-1 win over regional rivals NSW Country, to keep their unbeaten run going in the Under-15 boys.
Football South Australia gave the red army faithful plenty of reason to cheer after their Under-14 boys bounced back from a tough 10-0 loss on the opening day with an 8-1 rout of NSW Country.
It was a day for the Alex’s, with Alex Corbo and Alex Preston both netting hat tricks for the Croweaters.
Football Queensland kept its perfect start to the tournament in-tact in the Under-14 boys with two comfortable wins over NSW Lightning and Capital Football on Thursday.

In the Under-13 girls Victoria Navy and NSW Lighting couldn’t be seperated in a 10-goal epic, with Violet Hall netting three for the Victorians while Anabel Carbone continued her good week with the boot.
The pair both sit atop their pool with four points, while Football West and Football NSW Thunder lead the other two pools.
Football NSW Thunder’s Under-13 boys hit double digits for the second time in the tournament, with a four-goal haul to Zayan Buhora against Football South Australia, taking the sides combined for and against to 25-2. Buhora leads the division with seven goals of his own.
Capital Football kept its unbeaten run going in the Under-12 boys division picking up comfortable wins over Football Victoria and Queensland White, while Queensland Maroon lead the other pool with their own unbeaten record.

The National Futsal Championships will kick into high gear on Thursday, as the best young players hunt for all-important wins on the national stage.
With finals only just around the corner, a fast start to day two’s action at Melbourne’s Parkville Sports Centres could make or break the week for each state.

NSW and Queensland made strong starts to the tournament across several divisions on Wednesday, while the host state Victoria has kept itself in the hunt for gold.
The sky blues are dominating the youngest age division at the tournament with NSW Thunder and Lightning both looking to capitalise on perfect starts in the Under-12 boys.
NSW Thunder is also looming as the team to beat in the Under-15 girls with Sophie Paz kicking five goals in two games to start the week. The Thunder girls have scored a combined 15-0 in those two games and will clash with NSW Country on Thursday.
Football West shocked the host state in the Under-15 boys on day one, and will look to keep the momentum rolling in a clash against South Australia side looking to bounce back strong from a 16-goal loss to NSW Metro.
