The action at the Sapsasa Metro Soccer Carnival concludes in a big way on Wednesday when undefeated girls division one challengers Torrens River, who trail Airport by two points, open up against Playford.

Teams representing a number of Adelaide’s top sporting regions, including Adelaide North East, East Adelaide, North Adelaide, Tea Tree Gully, Port, Southern Valley and South East are on display.

Port has kept itself in the running to be crowned metro boys champions after a thrilling 1-1 draw against Airport on day two of the Sapsasa Soccer Carnival.

The clash was the highlight of another big day of action on field three at ServiceFM Stadium which also included a biug 4-2 win for undefeated girls division 1 frontrunners Airport over Adelaide South East.

North Adelaide scored an important 2-1 win over Southern Heights in the girls division two tournament, while Onkaparinga North kept itself in the hunt for the boys div 2 crown with a tight 1-0 win over Southern Valley.

Western district’s girls division two side was one of the big winners on the opening day of action, taking care of Onkaparinga South in a convincing 4-0 victory.

Other standout clashes were a 3-2 thriller between Para Disticts and Adelaide North East, also in girls division two, and a 4-1 victory to Salisbury East’s boys over Southern Valley.

Teams return to the field for day two action from 9.30am on Tuesday.

Winners of the carnival will be recognised in presentations at the end of day three.
