Canberra has booked a date with destiny in the Under-14 Club Championships girls Shield grand final.

The girls from the nation’s capital fought brilliantly for a come-from-behind seven-point win over Penrith Panthers in Thursday’s semi-finals.

The Panthers had led for majority of the contest, but with scores locked at 43-43 with five minutes to go in the final term, it was going to take something special from Canberra.

Up stepped Ashley Ward and Sydney White with a series of slick lay-ups, as the Canberra side went on a 9-4 run to completely turn the tide.

When scoring machine Smayra Mahajan landed a lusty three-pointer midway through the final term the result was in the bag.

Canberra will face Warwick Senators in the Shield gold medal match on Friday after they cruised past Ipswich Force 50-42 in the other semi-final.

Gold Coast Rollers boys also had to fight their way from behind against the Knox Raiders, with a blazing 19-point second quarter setting up the Queenslanders for a 76-60 win in the semi-finals.

The Rollers will take on fellow Queensland outfit Northside Wizards who managed to outlast rivals Logan Thunder in a brilliant semi-final.

While both sides traded blows down the stretch, it was the Wizards who got the better in a brilliant final term outscoring their rivals 27-19 to run away with the victory.

The Thunder and Wizards will have to do it the hard way, going head to head with each other, while the Rollers will take on Victorian powerhouse Knox Raiders in the other boys Shield playoff.

The Force will aim to take another big step forward from their quarter-final efforts when they clash with Warwick Senators from Western Australia.

Sydney champions Penrith Panthers will battle with Canberra in the other girls Shield semi-final.

The four Shield play-offs will headline a big day of action across Courts 6 and 10 which will be exclusively live streamed above.

KommunityTV will broadcast over 200 games LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on six courts at the U14 Club Championships at Casey in Melbourne’s southeast suburbs over six days from Sunday. Each day of the coverage will feature three LIVE stories showcasing two courts each.

That split will be Courts 1 and 3, Courts 9 and 10 and Courts 5 and 6.

The trio head up the NSW assault on the boys championship division at the Basketball Australia Under-14 Club Championships in Casey.

The action across Courts 6 and 10 will also include classification play-offs in the Shield and Championship divisions in the morning.

Sydney rivals Penrith Panthers and Hills Hornets will reignite their rivalry in the hunt for the minor placings in the boys Championship division, while Logan Thunder girls will aim to set the tone for their boys side later on with a win over Central Coast Rebels in classification action.
