Uriel Clarke and Tommy Moloney have given the Norths Bears a shot at locking in their finals fate after spearheading a strong win to start the Championship rounds at the boys Under-14 Club Championships.
Clarke and Moloney combined for 35 points as the Bears overcame a fierce effort from the South West Metro Pirates, running out 81-59 winners on Tuesday.

Pirates big man Brandon Nolan kept them in the contest with his work from the charity stripe, top-scoring for the Brisbane outfit with 18 points.
The Willetton Tigers boys, the top seeds out of the west, faced a mixed start to life in the Championship division after winning their first match on Tuesday 62-51 against Hills Hornets.
The Tigers couldn’t back up the performance in the afternoon as they ran into the form team of the tournament, South Adelaide Panthers.

As he has done all tournament, Panthers young gun Ed Whitehouse was wheeling and dealing for the South Australian side, picking up 28 points against the Tigers to match his tournament average.
Seth Penrose (20 points) headed up an impressive support cast at the Panthers as they ran out 76-63 winners over the Tigers.
It was a big day for the Panthers, with the club’s girls outfit also picking up a big win in the Championship rounds, knocking off Bulleen Boomers in a 51-48 thriller.

Western Australia state champions Willetton Tigers will get a chance to prove their championship mettle when they step up for a big double dose of boys action on day three of the Under-14 Club Championships.
With the tournament split into Championship and Shield division, the Tigers are staring down the barrel of a national title after a sensational start to their tournament in Casey.
But Tuesday’s action across Courts 5 and 6 will be the perfect proving ground as the Tigers look to sharpen their claws against the toughest opponents in the nation.

The western warriors will clash with Sydneysiders Hills Hornets early on Court 6, before backing up later on Tuesday to tackle tournament frontrunners South Adelaide Panthers.

In the Boys Shield the Sturt Sabres will feature in two big games on Court 6 as they aim to improve on their start to the tournament against North Adelaide Rockets and Gold Coast Rollers.
