The Cavaliers boys had five players hit double figures on the scoreboard as they racked up a dominant 103-56 win over the Hills Hornets.
While Mobarede Akingbade, Mofeoluwa Adio and Emmanuel Akia Labella all top-scored with 17 points, the more impressive fact was everyone in the squad finding the net.
The Casye girls backed up their boys in emphatic fashion with a 59-30 win over Cockburn Cougars, followed by a 74-21 win over the Canberra girls.
The Perry Lakes Hawks managed to upstage highly-fancied rivals Gold Coast Rollers in a 71-70 thriller in the boys championships, while the Tasmania Northern Tigers piked up a strong first round win over Northside Wizards.
Western Australian top seeds Willetton Tigers pulled out all the stops to take down the Penrith Panthers 57-51, setting up a cracking second-day showdown with a Logan Thunder side which made short work of Maffra Eagles 81-53.

Casey Cavaliers girls play twice, starting with a 10.30am encounter with WA visitors Cockburn Cougars and then a 4.30pm showdown with Canberra.
The boys certainly look one of the favourites for the title and their opening game against Sydney’s Hills Hornets at 3pm is eagerly anticipated.
The Cavaliers have dominated the U14 division in Victoria this year, culminating in their huge VJBL grand final success over Knox.
With players like Mobarede Akingbade, Mofeoluwa Adio and Emmanuel Akia Labella, they look formidable.
There are plenty of Victorian teams to watch on these two courts with Maffra, Knox, Keilor, Bulleen, Melbourne Tigers and Frankston all set to play.
And after their older age teams performed so well in the U18 event in Perth, Willetton Tigers and Perry Lakes Hawks will be keen to do well in Melbourne.
Willetton boys open up proceedings on Court 3 at 9am against Penrith Panthers while Perry Lakes face Gold Coast Rollers at midday.
Every match of the Basketball Australia Under-14 Club Championships will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV from September 22 to 27.
