Cameron Pender is just 18, but he’s that talented on the basketball court he can confidently say “I’m keeping my options open” when asked what his next step is.

The 199cm Lake Ginninderra man-child, who will play in Friday’s deciding game against Rowville, has taken this week’s Australian Schools Championships by storm, cementing himself as the tournament MVP fancy with a remarkable 49-point near triple-double on Tuesday.

The good news for NBL clubs is the 18-year-old is leaning toward following the pathway to his hoop dreams through Australia.

“It’s (basketball) my life, it’s what I do now. It’s something that I’m looking forward to for the future, for living, that’s how I see it, really,” Pender told News Corp after his team came from 18 down to hammer Concordia 105-81.

“I’m keeping my options open. I love the pathway through Australia at the moment. That’s where I’m really looking towards, I reckon.”
