Old Brighton are set to go into Sunday’s VAFA Premier men’s Grand Final against St Kevins with a vastly different team to when they last played them.
The Saints thumped Old Brighton by 77 points in round 17 back on August 20, but skipper Harry Hill revealed the availability of VFL players will give his side a more powerful look.
“We were hanging in there (the August 20 game), but they ended up winning by about 10 or so goals,” Hill said.
The VAFA Men’s Premier Grand Final will be livestreamed through the Herald Sun website by KommunityTV. Action starts from 2.30pm on Sunday.

“We got all those VFL guys back in the last round, so the team will be very different.
“We have had pretty tight matches for a number of years, bar the last one, it always seems to come down to a couple of goals either way.
“So I am assuming if everything goes to plan, it will be something similar.”
Old Brighton are set to have six VAFA-qualified VFL players on the field on Sunday who did not appear in their last met with St Kevins.
Brothers Will and Oscar Lewis will be in action alongside Darby Hipwell and Sam Collins.
Hamish Dick is set to be available after overcoming a wrist injury while ruck Felix Flockart is awaiting tests after a concussion.
St Kevins will have VFL-listed players Sam Tucker and Benjamin Mansfield on the field while their six other VFL-listed players didn’t play enough matches to qualify.
St Kevins are set to go in unchanged from their qualifying final win over Collegians and will have a similar lineup to when they last played Old Brighton.
Hill said St Kevins’ consistency across the field made them a challenging side to play against.
“They are just so well drilled and even across the ground,” he said.
“They obviously have some really good players but they also have some role players that do their job every week.
“They are just so solid everywhere, so that’s what makes them so hard to play against.”
Hill said the their past three wins have given them momentum entering the competition’s biggest game.
.
“Having the personnel, that helps massively but then just the confidence from the last three weeks,” he said.
“We have pretty much had three elimination finals in a row and been able to win all of them.
“Having that team that’s so settled and everything, it makes a big difference so that will hopefully help as well as getting the players back.”
Old Brighton had to defeat Old Melburnians in the last round of the season to make the finals.
Following the win they played in an elimination final defeating Old Xaverians before claiming a grand final spot last week when they defeated Collegians by 26 points in the preliminary final.
