VAFA live stream: Three-year deal to show games on KommunityTV ensures quality games every week (VAFA)

A historic season opener and the biggest rivalry in Australian rules football are just a few of the cracking clashes you can’t miss. See the streaming schedule for the first nine rounds of the VAFA.

KommunityTV will be on the sidelines for a historic first as the Victorian Amateur Football Association season kicks off this weekend.

It can be revealed KommunityTV’s weekly live stream coverage will kick off on Sunday, April 16 with a Premier Women’s double header.

It will not only be a historic first for KommunityTV, but also for the league, with the streaming game being Coburg’s first in the women’s league.

The proud club joins the VAFA women’s ranks in 2023, and KommunityTV will exclusively live stream their historic first game against the oldest women’s club in the league, Melbourne University.

It is one of nine double headers which will be live streamed across the first half of the season, which can be revealed for the first time today. Live stream matches for the second half of the season will be released at a later date.

The weekly double headers are part of a major three-year broadcast partnership between KommunityTV and VAFA which runs until the end of the 2025 season.

The partnership began with KommunityTV’s successful live streams of the 2022 VAFA finals series and will now continue to provide coverage of a select match in every round of the season.

There will be nine men‘s and nine women’s doubleheaders exclusively streamed over the 18-round home and away season in 2023.

And KTV will also provide uninterrupted coverage of the Premier Men‘s, Premier Women’s and U19 Premier Men’s finals series, bringing fans closer to the September action than ever before.

KTV will broadcast a total of 48 matches exclusively, complete with commentary teams.

The partnership marks an exciting step forward for community footy, as it places the competition on a national stage, allowing fans from all over the world to experience the excitement and passion of the VAFA.

Managing Director of News Sport Network, Michael Wilkins, expressed his delight at the long-term partnership with the VAFA.

“Community footy is at the heart of what we do, and at the heart of the sport - it’s where stars of the future shine,” he said.

“We look forward to putting the competition on a national stage.”

As part of the new agreement, the Herald Sun will also become a print media partner of the VAFA, providing fans with comprehensive coverage of the competition.

VAFA chief executive Jason Reddick commented on the success of the KTV streaming partnership during the VAFA finals in 2022.

“Following the success of the KommunityTV streaming partnership during the VAFA finals in 2022, we are delighted to have secured a three-year deal that expands the live coverage of our William Buck Premier Men’s and Women’s match of the round for both senior and reserve grades through the extensive News Corp subscriber network,” Reddick said.

“This is a great outcome for the VAFA, our Premier clubs and highly valued commercial partners as we continue to expand the reach of our competition, making it more accessible to a wider audience than ever before.”

The 2023 VAFA home and away season is set to begin on Saturday, April 15, and the schedule of matches to be broadcast through KTV will be announced shortly.
