Live stream: KommunityTV, AFL partner to exclusively stream the Herald Sun Shield

Some of the best young Aussie rules players in the business are gearing up for the Herald Sun Shield finals, and there’s only one place you can watch it LIVE. It all starts on Tuesday. Find out all the details.

AFL and AFLW stars of the future are ready to put on a show in this year’s Herald Sun Shield - and you can watch them LIVE.

Thanks to an agreement between the AFL and NewsCorp Australia, KommunityTV will broadcast the intermediate and senior boys as well as the girls semi-finals and grand finals.

The action will kick off on Tuesday, July 25 when several schools travel to Coburg City Oval for a triple header.

Head of AFL Victoria Ben Kavenagh expressed his excitement at the competition’s return.

“We saw how enthusiastic and passionate schools were about competing in the Herald Sun Shield in 2022, so this year’s competition will carry that momentum and promises to showcase great school footy,” he said.

“We are committed to building on the Herald Sun Shield’s long, rich history and give the best school footballers and teams from Victoria the opportunity to test themselves against other great teams.

“I would like to acknowledge the ongoing support of News Corp, who will continue to exclusively live stream the Herald Sun Shield via the KommunityTV platform, providing the competition, schools and players involved with outstanding exposure.

“Australian rules football plays such a prominent and important role in the Victorian school system and gives opportunities to tens of thousands of young boys and girls to play a team sport and get active every year.

“Having the pinnacle statewide inter-school event, the Herald Sun Shield, enables the best of the best in school football to be showcased and recognised.

“School football programs in many areas and school associations have grown immensely in recent years, particularly with girls football now having a strong presence in Victorian schools, which is reflected in the Herald Sun Shield.

News Sport Network general manager product and partnerships Sachin Kumar said the continuation of KommunityTV’s coverage of the Herald Sun Shield was a proud moment.

Competing schools for Division 1 have been confirmed with Division 2 expected to be confirmed in coming days.

Some of the AFL’s biggest names have featured in the Herald Sun Shield including Jimmy Bartel, Billy Brownless, Dustin Fletcher and Matthew Lloyd.
