Oakleigh Chargers have powered into the Coates Talent League girls grand final after a 20-point victory over Dandenong Stingrays on Saturday.
The Chargers got off to a flyer and kicked 17 points without reply in the first quarter.
Dandenong came into the game more in the second quarter and closed to within 10 points at one stage before Alessia Dunne restored order for the Chargers.
The game never got completely away from the Stingrays, but the Chargers were also never really threatened, eventually winning 8.5 (53) to 5.3 (33).
PREVIEW
Dandenong Stingrays girls coach Josh Moore believes he has several players made for the big stage.
And he’ll need them to deliver in the Coates Talent League preliminary final against Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday.

Among those who could turn the game on its head for the Stingrays is star forward Sophie Butterworth.
She is among the competition’s leading goalkickers this season with 31 majors from 14 games.
“She’s really stood up in the big moments,” Moore said.
“To be prepared for games this year, she’s had to do quite a lot of work during the week, which is a real credit to her.
“She’s made the most of her opportunities when they’ve come. If the moment presents itself this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if she does it again.”
Dandenong and Oakleigh almost can’t be separated on the stat sheet.
The Stingrays scored the most points of any team in the home-and-away season and were the second best defence.
The Chargers were the best defence and second best attack.
“They’re pretty impressive numbers,” Moore said.
“I think this game is going to be decided in the middle of the ground. I’ve got confidence our two young rucks, Elli Symonds and Zoe Besanko, will be able to give us first use out of the middle.
“Then we’ve got players like Mikayla Williamson and Meg Robertson who have outstanding seasons.”
The Stingrays will also have a slight advantage over the Chargers this weekend with the game to be played at Shepley Oval – Dandenong’s home ground.
“Even if it gives us a one per cent advantage, we’ll use it,” Moore said.
“Whether it’s warming up in our own rooms, we’re not going to shy away from it.”
