The Greater Western Victoria Rebels have sent a message to the rest of the NAB League with a stunning upset over ladder leaders Gippsland Power.
The result saw the Rebels move into the top four with just one round left to play this season.
Aaron Cadman’s second goal proved decisive in the win, with commentators declaring the major the “goal of the day”.
For the Power, Wil Dawson and Zane Duursma were influential with two goals apiece.
Meanwhile, Dandenong Stingrays have shown their class to overpower the Bendigo Pioneers in a NAB League thriller.
The Stingrays kept their top four hopes on track with a 12.14 (86) to 11.13 (79) victory at Shepley Oval on Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers snatched the lead midway through the last quarter but weren’t able to hold on as Kade De La Rue kicked a goal, which eventually turned out to be the match winner.
Ziggy Toledo was a dominant force inside forward 50 with four goals and was well supported by Cooper Simpson who put together another impressive game.

Finn Emile-Brennan also impressed for the Stingrays with his ball use a delight to watch.
For the Pioneers, Harvey Gallagher booted three goals while Harley Reid, a top prospect in the 2023 AFL Draft, continued to go from strength to strength.
Sam O’Shannesy kicked two final quarter goals for the visitors to keep them in the contest.
PREVIEW: Doubleheader sure to raise NAB League stakes
Four teams, two games and plenty of drama.
That’s what lays ahead in a huge NAB League double header live from Shepley Oval this weekend with the action set to kick off from 11.45am on Sunday.
In the first game, Dandenong will look to maintain its place in the top four against a Bendigo Pioneers side who can’t be underestimated despite winning two games for the year.
Then, ladder leaders Gippsland Power will look to slow down the GWV Rebels position for the top four at 2.15pm in what shapes as a huge day of footy.
Despite the Pioneers sitting 12th on the ladder with just two wins and a draw to their name this season, coach Danny O’Bree believes his side have been performing better than results suggest.
“We’ve been in a lot of games, whether that’s been ahead in the last quarter or not too far behind,” he said.
“There’s been moments which just haven’t gone our way. We’ve got a bit of a do or die mentality at the moment. It’s an exciting time to be part of the NAB League program.
“Throughout the season we’ve had a good look at a lot of our list and we’ve been impressed with what we’ve seen.
“This weekend we’ve got a really good chance to test ourselves against a really high quality basketball program in Dandenong. They’re extremely well coached.
“We’re going to enjoy finding out where the Bendigo Pioneers program is at.”
One of the key players for the Pioneers will be Harley Reid who made headlines during the under 18 national championships with Vic Country.
He along with Bendigo teammate Noah Long, who won’t play on Sunday due to school footy commitments, were among their sides best performers.
“Harley’s a great kid and has had a fantastic season,” O’Bree said.
Jason Gillbee, who played for the Allies during the championships, is set to return to the Pioneers line-up and will be a “significant” inclusion according to O’Bree.
“He’s been away for quite a few games so it will be fantastic to have him back,” he said.
“He’s a 191cm athlete who runs a 6-minute two-kilometre time trial. Jason has a real presence at either end of the ground. His footy skills are smooth and silky.
“Then you’ve got Harvey Gallagher who has gone to another level in the past few games. He had 44 touches the last time we played. But it was his GPS numbers and workrate which was the most impressive thing.”
The Stingrays will be looking to get back on the winners’ list after they went down to Eastern Ranges in their last game a fortnight ago.
Henry Hustwaite and Finn Emile-Brennan were among their side’s best and will again be players to keep an eye on.
In the other game, Gippsland will be looking to strengthen its spot at the top of the ladder after thumping the Northern Knights by 100 points last weekend.
Bailey Humphrey (four goals last weekend), Coby Burgiel (29 disposals and three goals) and Jonti Schuback shape as potential matchwinners for the Powers.
Meanwhile, the Rebels will look to continue their winning ways after proving too good for Ranges.
Jamieson Ballantyne impressed with 21 disposals and a goal while Aaron Cadman kicked 2.5 from his 23 touches.
