The Herald Sun Shield division two Aussie Rules finals series got off to an exciting start with the boys senior and intermediate semi-finals on Wednesday.
The intermediate competition features year nine and 10s in the team while the seniors have year 11 and 12s.

Padua College Mornington have thrashed Christian Schools Events Network by 96 points to progress through to the Grand Final.
Padua came out firing with a 56-0 at quarter-time which set them up for glory.
CSEN quickly bounced back after the first break through Will Gazzard who kicked the first goal of the second quarter and first for his side.
Padua proved to be too strong, however, as they powered home to come out victors and score a spot in the Grand Final against MacKillop College Werribee next Wednesday.

MATCH WRAP: St Ignatius punch ticket to the grand final
St Ignatius College Geelong escaped a scare from Salesian College to win by 10-points and progress through to the Herald Sun Shield intermediate boys Grand Final.
In classic Shield fashion, there was almost an upset as Salesian College piled on two goals and six behinds in the final quarter, almosting recording a comeback from behind win.
St Ignatius were kept scoreless in the final quarter but were able to put enough on the opposition to cause inaccurate kicking in front of goal.
St Ignatius came away victors, 5.8 (38) to 3.10 (28) and will go through to the Grand Final next Wednesday, August 17.

MATCH WRAP: Hynes explodes as Rowville books grand final berth
Rowville Secondary College put on a show against Padua College, Mornington defeating them by a whopping 71 points to progress through to the Herald Sun Shield intermediate boys div 2 grand final.
Rowville stormed out of the gates kicking 7.5 before the first break while keeping their opposition scoreless in the first term.
The win, 5.11 (41) 16.16 (112) means Rowville will join their girls senior side in progressing through to a Shield decider.
Cooper Hynes from Bonbeach impressed with a spectacular 10 goals across three quarters.
He was rested in the last quarter by coach Darren Bewick as it’s believed that Hynes and a few other teammates will have club grand finals this weekend which they were mindful of.
Padua College showed good fight in the third quarter to kick three goals to Rowville’s four for the term.
Rowville will play St Ignatius College Geelong in the decider next Wednesday, August 17.
Commentator Brendan Rhodes said Rowville looked “ominous” heading into the game.
