JOHN Worsfold is clearly a fan of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
The under siege Essendon coach borrowed a famous tactic from the Iron Lady when he faced the press on Wednesday to explain the sacking of his main assistant Mark Neeld.
Thatcher did an interview on 60 Minutes with George Negus back in 1981 where she took umbrage to him stating that people in the street were saying she was “pig-headed”.
“Tell me who ... tell me who and where and when,” Thatcher kept repeating.
It became the stuff of legend in the world of television.
At the Bombers’ Tullamarine headquarters Channel 9’s Ayrton Wooley was front and centre at the press conference and got caught in an entertaining exchange with Worsfold.
The topic was the reports that the communication in the coaches’ box had been an issue behind Neeld’s dismissal.
“It has been mentioned ... “ Wooley said.
“By whom?,” Worsfold said and then repeated it again two more times. “By whom? By whom?”
“Everyone,” was the eventual reply.
“So who?” Worsfold said before asking for a specific question.
It was Thatcherism at its best.

The former world No. 1 quickly fired back: `Actually I asked ‘what do you call that hairstyle?’ #hairstyles
GLOVER LANDS DEEP IN THE ROUGH
YOU know how sometimes you don’t feel like going home after a hard day at the office.
Former US Open champion Lucas Glover feels that a lot given the reception he receives from his wife, Krista.
On the weekend she was arrested for attacking him and his mother in front of their two young children when he arrived home after missing the cut at the Players Championships.
Lucas told police that Krista gets violent every time he doesn’t play well in a major PGA tournament, according to the incident report.
He described how “when he plays a bad round of golf, Krista proceeds to start an altercation with him and telling him how he is a loser and a p---y, how he needs to fire everyone, and how he’d better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see the kids again,” the report reads.
Lucas, 28, who is best known for his 2009 win at the U.S. Open and the 2011 Wells Fargo Open, said his wife had been drinking all day. She was also charged with resisting arrest.
THE WHISPER
The AFL has been assured its showpiece game between Port Adelaide and the Gold Coast will be shown on Chinese television despite a banning of tattoos on TV. The Chinese soccer team recently had to use long sleeves and tape to cover players’ tattoos because they were no longer “deemed” appropriate for television. A number of players on both AFL teams have significant ink.
