THE VALLEY
BRAD WATERS (Racenet)
BERKELEY SQUARE (Race 7, No.1 – $2.40)
Terrific three-year-old talent that was unlucky in the Caulfield Guineas. The step up to 2040m won’t worry him and he’s in well at the weight.
Value bet: GREAT BARRIER REEF (Race 3, No.9 – $7.50)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor)
ANAMOE (Race 9, No.10 – $2.40)
If ever Anamoe was vulnerable it was last start in the Might And Power and I still don’t think we’ve seen the best he has to offer.
Value bet: GRAND PROMENADE (Race 8, No.1 – $8)
GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun)
ANAMOE (Race 9, No.10 – $2.40)
Superstar who was stiff not to win this race last year and gets his chance to further frank his already-lucrative stud future
Value bet: CROSSWINDS (Race 3, No.3 – $16)
SIMON MOY (NewsRacing)
EVERGLADE (Race 4, No.10 – $7.50)
Bit twitchy loading but superb debut win here and should get similar conditions.
Value bet: PERICLES (Race 7, No.3 – $6)
JETT HATTON (Racenet)
WILLINGA BEAST (Race 4, No.3 – $3.80)
The Sydney three-year-old fillies are just better to those in Melbourne and Willinga Beast is up there with the best of them. Mixed it with the colts last start on a leaders track, she takes on her own sex here and is likely to get rainy conditions again. Trainer Kris Lees gave her a good wrap and she looks hard to beat.
Value bet: MR BRIGHTSIDE (Race 9, No.10 – $16)
ROYAL RANDWICK
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph)
GOLDEN MILE (Race 7, No.1 – $1.80)
Golden Mile is short enough but it is impossible to tip against him. He is coming off a tough win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas where he held off a wall of challengers in the straight. He’s drawn the outside barrier but the Randwick 1600m start is the fairest in Australian racing and jockey Hugh Bowman has plenty of time to find a position. Looks a class above his rivals.
Value bet: NEVER TALK (Race 9, No.11 – $18)
Race 9 no 11: Never Talk
MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph)
GOLDEN MILE (Race 7, No.1 – $1.80)
He’s set to start odds on but, on form, he should just come out and win this easier race for a team that is on fire of late.
Value bet: MATCHA LATTE (Race 8, No.5 – $13)
ADAM SHERRY (Sportsman)
MAHAGONI (Race 4, No.8 – $3.50)
This David Payne-trained import followed a close second to Waterford with a Midway win here at Randwick before a fifth to the smart Hosier last time out. Just behind placegetters in three runs on heavy but can improve on that here and has the in-form Blake Shinn on board.
Value bet: SWATS THAT (Race 9, No.6 – $11)
DOOMBEN
TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail)
AUSSIE NUGGET (Race 9, No.10 – $5)
Has relished the move north to Queensland and drops back to his pet trip here over the mile after a brief freshen up. Will be charging home with a lightweight.

Value bet: A CALL FROM HEAVEN (Race 6, No.11 – $12)
