BEST BET
FRAWLEY (Race 5 No.3 – $3.90): Fought hard to be beaten only two lengths by subsequent winners New Sovereign and Samurai in what has turned out to be a good form race. Has the pace to offset the tricky draw and will prove tough to run down.

NEXT BEST
NAVY KING (Race 7 No.8 – $3.70): Given his chance in the Group 1 Queensland Derby after a Flemington win in May. Returned in super order at Ararat then not beaten far at Caulfield Heath. Ready for the 1700m now.

GEFFINA (Race 1 No.6 – $3.30): Did a bit wrong at her final run last preparation in October but still only beaten three lengths by Fickle at this track. That form reads very well given Fickle’s recent winning ways!

VALUE BET
MISS TALLCHIEF (Race 8 No.11 – $10): Aimed too high when down the track in the Eureka Stockade. Back to country level suits, carries no weight and trainer Tom Dabernig is on a hot streak.
