A fresh Gentleman Roy will chase a second Group 1 win in the space of a week for Lindsay Park in Saturday’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.
Stable star Mr Brightside claimed the Group 1 Champions Mile at Flemington last Saturday and Gentleman Roy will shoot for another top-level win over one of his favourite courses.
Gentleman Roy won the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes over the Caulfield 1400m course in August before running a solid third in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes later that month.

The eight-year-old then raced wide without cover throughout when fifth in the Group 3 Moonga Stakes at Caulfield on October 19.
Trainers Ben, Will and JD Hayes subsequently decided to freshen Gentleman Roy for the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
JD Hayes said the team decided to diverge slightly from their usual routine when freshening their team.
“He’s freshened up beautifully,” he said.
“When they’re as fit as him, you just keep them ticking over and happy.
“Usually, we give them a jumpout but we didn’t feel it was necessary with him because he raced through the winter.
“He scoots around out the front and he’ll be hard to catch in the Rupert Clarke.”
