Just For Show nailed Princess Que in the VOBIS Gold Carat at The Valley … a race in which the action continued in the stewards’ room.
Acta Non Verba led the 1200m race and gripped on for third as Rubiquity and Stormbourg endured luckless runs.
Rubiquity trucked up behind the leader on the rail but never saw daylight, while Stormbourg was held up in the straight and then clipped the heels of Princess Que and knuckled.
Jockey Patrick Moloney, rider of Stormbourg, did well to stay in the saddle.

Lindsay Park-trained Just For Show arrived in the nick of time with champion jockey Craig Williams aboard.
“Daniel Stackhouse (Acta Non Verba), he really pinged out and was so fast out it changed the script,” Williams said.
“I thought keep staying behind Blake (Shinn on Princess Que), keep staying behind Blake, and then OK I’ve stayed enough and came out to go.
“I didn’t have a horse to go, wobbled, there was a bit going on and but he was really tough and effective late.”

Just For Show has won three of eight starts and placed five times.
Stewards questioned Moloney and Shinn regarding the incident near the 100m where Stormbourg blundered.
Moloney said Stormbourg hung in throughout the race and again over the concluding stages to get on heels.
