Blue Diamond favourite Field Of Play is a confirmed acceptor for Melbourne’s richest two-year-old race on Saturday at Caulfield after connections paid a $55,000 late entry fee.

Blue Diamond favourite Field Of Play is a confirmed acceptor for Melbourne’s richest two-year-old race on Saturday at Caulfield.

Co-trainer Trent Busuttin said connections of the unbeaten gelding had agreed to pay the $55,000 late entry fee.

Field Of Play was a dominant winner at The Valley on debut and then saluted again in the Blue Diamond Prelude.

Blue Diamond candidates The Playwright, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, and Godolphin filly Tempted galloped at Caulfield on Tuesday morning.

The barrier draw for Saturday’s $2m Group 1 will be held at 10:30am today at Caulfield.

Field Of Play is $6 for the Blue Diamond from My Gladiola ($7), Palm Angel ($8) and Tempted ($10).

The Playwright is $15 before the barrier draw.
