BEST BET
MOUNT RINJANI (Race 2, No.1)
Improved with race experience to score at The Valley second-up and can continue his upward trajectory at Cranbourne.
VALUE BET
WINGS OF SONG (Race 7, No.2)
Wings Of Song came a long way in her last campaign and has trialled well leading up to her racetrack return. Expecting a bold first-up run.
EARLY QUADDIE
3, 4, 7, 9/2, 4, 8, 11, 12/1, 10, 13, 16/1, 4, 7, 10, 14
$100 flexi for 25 per cent
QUADDIE
Race 7: 1, 2, 3, 5,
Race 8: 2, 12
Race 9: 1, 7, 9, 11, 18
Race 10: 3, 8
$100 flexi for 125 per cent
RACE 1: 12.20PM FRANKSTON SAND & SOIL MINI MIX HANDICAP (1200m)
Expecting firm conditions for Cranbourne Cup Day. Interesting start to the day but ROMANI ITE DOMUM (3) has stood up at his last two runs and should have every chance to complete the hat trick. BRIDAL WALTZ (2) ran on well in Group 3 company last time out and won’t be far away. The first-starter REFUSETOBEENGLISH (7) has impressed at the jumpouts and could measure up here. STORMBOURG (4) showed talent last time in and won’t be far away.
SUGGESTED BET: Box trifecta 2, 3, 4, 7
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Nil.
RACE 2: 12.50PM HERTZ ROBIN DALEY CLASSIC (2025m)
Like the way MOUNT RINJANI (1) is developing as a stayer. He was a decisive winner at The Valley second-up and should be suited by the step up in trip. PAPAL ARMY (8) is an improving type that could be ready to show something more over 2025m. I ONLY WISH (9) has been competitive in all runs this time in and will go well again. KALUAKOI (4) was outsprinted at The Valley last Friday but could be looking for more ground.
SUGGESTED BET: Mount Rinjani to win.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Verona Rupes $8.50 – $7.50.
RACE 3: 1.25PM RHINO THE WRECKER HANDICAP (2540m)
Tough race but DUKE OF HASTINGS (4) is the top pick after his fighting win at Mornington and he can race closer to the speed here. ADONIS KICK (9) went down narrowly after chasing well at Ballarat and won’t be far away. AHURIRI (7) ran on well in a harder race at Flemington while THE GENIUS (3) looks ready to return to this trip after a steady outing at The Valley.
SUGGESTED BET: Duke Of Hastings each-way.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: The Genius $4.20 – $4.
RACE 4: 2PM REED CRANES & HAULAGE HANDICAP (1300m)
OVERACTIVE (2) has been well-supported in early betting and will find this easier than his midfield effort in stakes class at Flemington. VIENNA VIXEN (11) was narrowly beaten at Bendigo and will be fitter again. DARK JOURNEY (12) hasn’t had much luck lately but is racing well. ALECTRONA (8) will be fitter for a good fresh effort at Bendigo.
SUGGESTED BET: Overactive to win.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Overactive $8 – $6.
RACE 5: 2.35PM UNOX CASA HANDICAP (1000m)
Interesting sprint race but KRYSANOVA (16) could provide a blowout result second-up after working too hard at The Valley first-up. CHARMED RUN (1) ran on well to score first-up and is yet to miss a placing second-up. MANHATTAN THUNDER (13) has a good first-up record and is a Cranbourne winner. TRAPEZE WARRIOR (10) should again be competitive here.
SUGGESTED BET: Krysanova each-way.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Harry Got Styles $8 – $7.50.
RACE 6: 3.10PM JOHN DUFF & CO THE LESTER (2025m)
Another even contest but SAVOIR FAIRE (7) will be much fitter for two promising efforts this time in and has the services of Damian Lane. AKROTIRI (14) improved when placed at Moe and that form stood up at Flemington during the carnival. INDEPENDENT ROAD (1) is honest and has a good 2000m record. AMBASSADORIAL (10) should roll forward and be in this for a long way.
SUGGESTED BET: Savoir Faire each-way.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Nation’s Call $4.40 – $4.
RACE 7: 3.45PM ROSEMONT STUD FILLIES AND MARES PENDANT (1400m)
WINGS OF SONG (2) developed into a stakes performer last time in and her recent trials indicate she has come back just as well for this campaign. TIZ INVINCIBLE (1) tried hard when not far away at Flemington and drops in class for this. WAIMARIE (5) led and did a good job in a richer race last time out and could be hard to run down. KONASANA (3) went well in Group 3 company second-up and will be improved.
SUGGESTED BET: Wings Of Song to win with a saver on Tiz Invincible.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Tiz Invincible $4 – $3.80.
RACE 8: 4.25PM THE LADBROKES METEORITE (1200m)
NADAL (12) was stiff not to score down the straight at Flemington last time out and the form out of his Caulfield win has stood up. BARAQIEL (2) will be hardest to beat after a respectable effort at Group 1 level at Flemington. ROBRICK (8) has returned in terrific order and should run well. SPACEWALK (4) has a tricky gate but is always competitive.
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 2, 12/2, 12/1, 3, 4, 6, 8.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Arkansaw Kid $8.50 – $7.50.
RACE 9: 5PM LISTED LADBROKES CRANBOURNE CUP (1600m)
PINSTRIPED (1) has had an interrupted campaign but is a Group 1 winner and will find this easier than his last assignment. VON HAUKE (7) was far from disgraced behind Mr Brightside at Flemington and drops in class. Kiwi visitor IT’S A WILD NIGHT (9) has form around some smart types in NZ and should be respected. GLOBE (11) should roll forward and be in this for a long way.
SUGGESTED BET: Pinstriped to win.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Running By $9 – $7.50.
RACE 10: 5.40PM FREEWAY FOR SHOOTING STARS (1500m)
Hard to go past the exciting mare OH TOO GOOD (8) here after her terrific effort when narrowly beaten after racing wide at Flemington. RUBOLOGY (3) was a game winner at Pakenham and will be at peak fitness for this. IGOTCHA (9) finished off well when close-up at The Valley last time and will be competitive. RUSSIAN METEOR (1) is worth another chance after giving too much start at Sale.
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 8/1, 2, 3, 9/1, 2, 3, 9.
LADBROKES MARKET MOVER: Oh Too Good $1.70 – $1.50.
