Shayno: Hello Mitchy. We probably should have got Tim Bailey and Brian Bury to do this week’s write-up given everything that comes after this will be weather dependent and how much rain we get/got.

Mitch: G’day Shayno. I agree. Maybe we could do a second edition of Turf Talk for Saturday when we know a bit more? I am tipping it’s going to be soft for the record.

Shayno: My best bet is a wet-tracker but he is also unbeaten at 2000m and was big in The Big Dance, bigger again at Newcastle on Hunter day. I speak of Floating. Love the greys in the wet! He’s got Rhythm as a broodmare sire and he threw Ethereal!

Mitch: I’ve got Floating in the numbers for that ATC Cup but I find it hard to stray away from the favourite Townsend. I’ve been amazed by how well this bloke has come back off a long lay off this preparation with a second and a win. He handles wet conditions and the 2000m should suit.

Shayno: Tannhauser is my early pick to win The Ingham. I know that is his race and Randwick is his happiest hunting ground but I am going to play him each-way at the odds in the Festival Stakes.

Mitch: Xidaki was caught off the track in the Golden Eagle so I am happy to figure him. This is much easier and he gets the in-form man Tommy Berry to help with a tricky draw this time. I am going to give him another just chance here.

Shayno: The heavy, if it is indeed heavy, might have ended a couple of the major players’ hopes in the Starlight. Not so Contemporary who sails through it if there is a ‘lane’ on Saturday, Jason Collett will be find it.

Mitch: The same goes for Jedibeel. He did more than enough first up and should make natural improvement here. You’d love to own him. He has only missed the placings twice in 15 starts and that shouldn’t be changing here.

Festival Stakes contender can cap off stable’s Mighty month

Shayno: Love the Country Classic every year. I am with Home Affairs’ little half brother, Marenaro.

Mitch: Have to be against you there Shayno. I’ve made Knights Armour my best value bet of the day. He’s going good this horse and expecting K-Mac to capitalise on a perfect draw. If you’re wondering my best that’s race 5, Bullets High.
