FOUR-PLAY – $200 BETTING STRATEGY FOR GEELONG
RACE 5: BENCHMARK 84
• $50 win LUNA CAT (4) at $7
Mare with a terrific second-up record (5:2-1-0) and looks to have returned a treat judging by her excellent jumpouts and a fast-finishing first-up third to Grand Larceny at Caulfield Heath on December 14. Drawn a little deep but she gets back anyway and as long as the run-on horses aren’t disadvantaged, she’ll be the one charging home late.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 70
• $50 win IGOTCHA (1) at $4.20
Ciaron Maher-trained mare who’s been super consistent this time in with two wins and three placings from seven starts. Not beaten far last time in a BM78 by Sassy Boom and Miss Tarzy, the latter of whom ran exceptionally well under a big weight at Flemington on New Year’s Day. Drops in grade now and a great move to make use of Jayla Kennedy’s 2kg claim.

RACE 9: LISTED BLACK PEARL STAKES
• $50 win INHIBITIONS at $5
Plenty of early pace engaged here and that’s going to play right into the hands of this Godolphin mare who was well-backed when beating Zou Sensation at Caulfield Heath on December 14. Her previous two runs were excellent – beaten only a length behind Uzziah when defeating the rest comfortably and a good second to the impressive Briasa.
The money was bang on!

RACE 10: 3YO HANDICAP
• $25 e/w BAND OF BROTHERS at $10/$3
Won two from five in his first prep, spelling after a 4.5-length fourth behind star sprinter Growing Empire in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes. Two jumpouts leading into this race have both been good – second behind The Supernova winner Here To Shock before cruising to victory at Horsham. Can lead or sit right behind the pace from the inside barrier and gets in with a nice weight thanks to Tom Prebble’s claim.

QUADZILLA
LEG 1, RACE 7
IGOTCHA (1) looks well-placed her to Benchmark 70 level with the benefit of a claiming apprentice. THEYCALLMEBRUCE (5) goes well at Geelong (5:2-1-0) and didn’t have the clearest passage at Moonee Valley last time out, running home behind Mytemptation when the race was all but over. DOWN LOW (7) has been hampered by wide runs his past two starts and has raced well considering.
FIRST LEG: 1,5,7
LEG 2, RACE 8
HOLYMANZ (1) won this race last year under 53kg and while he’s up 7kg this year, he’s earned the weight since with a Group 2 placing behind Atishu and a last-start third in Group 3 company. Forgive RIOT AND ROSE (2)’s last-start flop when he was found to be lame post-race, while DASHING (3) is generally around the money. Big watch on the import NIGHT ENDEAVOR (4) second-up and MATHLETIC (5) will have supporters.
SECOND LEG: 1,2,3,4,5
LEG 3, RACE 9
Open race. INHIBITIONS (3) has been terrific this prep with form around some good horses. SHE’S BULLETPROOF (8) is flying and the stable is on a hot streak. Strong winning hope. Some query on where PHARARI (7) gets to in the run from the wide barrier but she has a touch of class. BIZOT (13) is progressive, CLEO CAT (9) is unbeaten and you can make a case for SHE DANCES (1) who gets in well under set weights and penalties conditions.
THIRD LEG: 1,3,7,8,9,13
LEG 4, RACE 10
MANOLO BLING (2) is a classy filly. A stylish jumpout victory at Balnarring will have her cherry ripe for this first-up. DANXIA (15) a the query runner. This is a big step up in class following a Geelong maiden win but he was super impressive and gets in with just 51kg. MISS ALTAIR (3) has the pace to offset the wide draw and she did beat home Miraval Rose last time out. BAND OF BROTHERS (1) gets a gun run from barrier and must include SWEETHEARTED (4) despite the wide draw.
FOURTH LEG: 1,2,3,4,15
