Flashy mare who is known for her powerful finish. Could figure.

Race 5: 3,5,8

COFFS HARBOUR INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: MAIDEN HANDICAP (805m)
POWER SPARK (1) was $10 into $8 when fifth of the six runners in a Super Maiden at Newcastle on November 4 last year. Led and faded that day. We start again now over a year since and all we know for sure about him is that he was fantastic winning a trial 18-days ago. The Jake Hull-trained first starter REBELLIOUS RED (4) is a very sweet mover. The two December trials have been rippers. Chances increase if there are more scratchings given the barrier situation.
BET: Power Spark to win, exacta, quinella 1,4.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1305m)
TOOTSIE (5) has only won once in 14 starts but she has placed five times, four of them are seconds. This is her home track and while that win was over 1720m, the fact that it is 1305m gives her a real chance to overrun them. TARA KODA (8) was ‘good, better and best’ in her three runs at the first campaign. She’s got a big finish. KNOT ANOTHER KISS (3) was a most progressive last start winner.
BET: Tootsie each-way, box trifecta 3,5,8,9, Daily Double 1st Leg (5), 2nd Leg (11 & 17).

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 58 (1605m)
KING CORNELIUS (3) is a ‘new’ stablemate of the aforementioned Tootsie which grants him home ground advantage as well. In fact the Paul Smith-trained gelding has won two of four at Coffs and more importantly, he is two from two at the track and trip. WHATEVER IT TAKES (6) is a last start winner here at home over 1400m. Drawn well today. CASINO BEAR (1) is a very reliable and consistent horse. Gets in pretty well now after the 4kg claim.
BET: King Cornelius to win.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 58 (1005m)
MISS MAZERATI (11) went through a long period of running well but with little rewards. That has all changed in recent times, so much so, that the Brett Dodson trained mare is ‘121’ leading into this. On top of that, her last start win was here at home over more or less the same distance as today’s mission. Eager to see what the market makes of PICUPSTIXX (17) here. He was a debut winner (bearing in mind he is first-up) and he has not run one bad race in all his eight start career. GOT THE SMARTS (9) is just too reliable to leave out.
BET: Miss Mazerati and Picupstixx each-way.

ORANGE TIPS

BEST BET
Race 3 No.1 MISS ADAMAS
Remains winless after 18 starts but has placed 11 times.

NEXT BEST
Race 5 No.4 DEELBREAKA
Been hitting the line quite well and has no weight this time.

VALUE
Race 6 No.11 WEBEJAMIN
Busting to win race and has a Kembla placing on her CV.

ORANGE INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: CLASS 1 PLATE (1600m)
STALLONE (2) drew first blood when scoring a knockout win (there’s two bad puns in a row) in a 1400m Maiden here on December 16 – and a good looking maiden it was too, maybe and in fact probably it was a much better race than today’s assignment. That said, respect is owed to the Gary Portelli-trained TAKEOVER ARTIST (1) whose own maiden win was at Hawkesbury. Deanne Panya's ride CROWN ESTATE (9) is better than what his two runs this preparation would suggest.
BET: Stallone to win.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1280m)
DEEALBREAKA (4) was a Newcastle 1400m Maiden winner back in July 23 and whilst he hasn’t won again since, he has run some creditable race out west and does give the impression that he is ‘building up to something’. BUSHWALKER (9) would have to be one of the most progressive young horses in the region. The Alison Smith-trained 3YO is ‘321’ this prep and that win here was so impressive.
BET: Dealbreaka each-way, exacta 4 to beat 9, quinella, 4,9.

RACE 6: SUPER MAIDEN PLATE (1400m)
WEBEJAMIN (11) is from a good-old Woodlands family; her dam is a daughter of Viscount, her second dam is by Canny Lad while her third-dam is the Ingham’s 1990 Surround Stakes winner, Ochiltree. Webejamin has three seconds and a third from six starts, also a fourth and a fifth, this is reliable. Gerry Harvey’s, the Gary Portelli-trained FLOODGATES (9), is bursting to win and finds ‘the right race’ again. THE CRISTAL (14) is a debutant who trialled well.
BET: Webejamin to win, box trifecta 9,10,11,14.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 58 (1000m)
HEAVENLY AZ (9) was very good first-up at Nowra in that she drew 7 of 8, was sixth at the 400m, and beat all bar Gerry Harvey/Joe Cleary’s promising Twin Telepathy. It is worth noting that Heavenly Az’s only win so far was second-up, albeit in a Cowra Maiden. Still, she has a really nice draw here (1) and a lightweight. Alison Smith’s local duo CAN DO IT (8) and BRIEF STATEMENT (1) have each got very compelling records at the track and the distance. Former Sydney-sider DESIROUS (11) is ‘1539’ in four runs in the Central West and was only just nosed out of the win nine days ago.
BET: Heavenly Az each-way.
