ROSEHILL INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1: 3YO BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1200m)

Glorioso was game in defeat first-up when third to Useapin over 1100m at Hawkesbury after being caught three and four-wide. Raced one-off with cover before getting a run between horses in the straight to beat Ellipsis at the same track and distance. Ready for the step up to 1200m. Shelstein hit the front behind being run down when fourth on debut at Canterbury then raced wide when third at Goulburn. Returned from a spell with a narrow win from Gorbachev after sitting outside the leader at Kembla. Aye Aye Captain kicked off this preparation with a nice win from Diddle Dumpling. Copped a couple of bumps in the run when fourth to The Three Hundred at Warwick Farm last start.

Bet: Glorioso to win

RACE 2: 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP (1400m)

Concoction is a first starter by Rageese from a granddaughter of Klokka. Was good winning his Hawkesbury trial on Oct 14 and outstanding coming from six lengths off the leaders to win his second heat on the Kensington. Brigidine Gal started a $21 chance on debut but ran a cheeky race working home for third at Warwick Farm behind Manos who was beaten a nose in stake company his next start and Straand Beauty who won next time out. She then sat outside the leader when third to Snitzanova on Kensington. Will give this a shake. Leconfield has been just behind the placegetters in all four starts. Has had an easy trial since when second to Unleeshing at Rosehill.

Bet: Concoction to win

RACE 3: BENCHMARK 72 F&M HANDICAP (1500m)

Concordia Wind was 24 days with a soft trial in between runs into the Group 3 Reginald Allen where she settled last from the wide gate and was held up until the 300m and making ground when beaten three lengths by Aeliana despite beating just one home. Ran on again last start when second behind Darling Downs on the Kensington. She is having no luck with barriers ad has the outside gate again. Little Jeanie started favourite in that race and raced inside Concordia Wind and working home into fourth. She was six week between runs and will be better for it. Star Act sat behind the leader and held on for third in that same race. Won’t be far away again.

Bet: Concordia Wind to win

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1800m)

Danish Prince was sent forward from his wide gate to sit outside Treize in the Four Pillars and battled away to finish just over three lengths behind Kingston Charm in seventh place. Wasn’t far behind Alabama State in a Midway before that. Up to 1800m for the first time but drawn well and will give a bold sight. Morning Sun raced well in his first Australian campaign where kicked off with a second to Age Of Sail over 1600m at Warwick Farm and followed with a third to Kettle Hill over 2000m at Rosehill and a third to Principessa over 1900m at Canterbury. Also placed in each of his three first-up runs in England. Don Stefano was held up for a run in the straight when resuming at Rosehill on Oct 26. Will appreciate the step up in trip and can run a bold race at odds.

Bet: Danish Prince to win

RACE 5: C,G&E BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1500m)

Congregation boxed on for fourth to Well Timed at Randwick before coming from last to finish second behind all-the-way winner Zouatica on the Kensington. Drawn well and gets his chance. Edited By led all the way to beat Getafix here on Oct 2 before a close second to Bullets High at Warwick Farm. Freshened after his sixth to Need Some Luck at Warwick Farm. Down in grade and gets in well with the 3kg claim. Dazzle Legend just had to be eased near the 50m when Bullets High shifted in as he went past to win at Warwick Farm. Sat behind the leader and hit the front near the 200m before finishing a close fourth to Battleton at Rosehill on Nov 2. Back in grade and gets his chance.

Bet: Congregation to win

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1300m)

Drift Net jumped awkward before kicking through to sit three-wide in finishing a length third behind Wooloowin and Harry’s Bar when resuming over 1150m on the Kensington on Oct 30. Ended last campaign with back-to-back wins over 1343m and 1300m at Gee ling and Warwick Far. Will appreciate stepping up to that trip here. Piercing Arrow was a handy third to Huon first-up on the Kensington on Sept 11 but failed to handle the wet track at Rosehill second-up. Has won a trial since and will appreciate the firm ground. Captain Amelia worked home well for fourth to Wooloomin first-up.

Bet: Drift Net to win
