Group 1 trainer Enver Jusufovic has Pinstriped primed to strike on Saturday in the CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

Pinstriped is slated to jump out on Monday at Cranbourne – a third and final tune up before the first-up Group 1 assignment.

Jusufovic realised a life ambition last spring when Pinstriped denied champion Mr Brightside second-up in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

The experience has only whet the appetite for more top class success.

“I want more, I want more,” Jusufovic said.

Jusufovic saddled victorious New York Lustre at Sandown last Saturday, the stable’s sixth winner from the past 11 metropolitan starters.

Pinstriped put the boutique Jusufovic yard on the map in 2022 as a top class contender.

“It’s going super (stable form), I pinch myself all the time,” Jusufovic said.

Last start Listed WJ Adams Stakes (1000m) winner Philosopher has been aimed at the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) on February 15 at Flemington.

Pinstriped could build on the Jusufovic momentum on Saturday.

“He’ll have his third trial on Monday and hopefully he pulls up well,” Jusufovic said.

“His fitness levels are good and he normally performs well early in the prep, so we’ll know more on Monday.”

Pinstriped placed in two 800m jumpouts at Cranbourne last month.

“He had residual fitness from the spring as well,” Jusufovic said.

“You got to have them pretty fit for the Group 1s.

“Early in the prep I like to have him as forward as I can (fitness edge on) on other horses maybe going deeper in the autumn, I want to have him fairly ready like I did in the Memsie.

“He’s capable (of winning another Group 1) I thought I had him spot on in the Makybe Diva, the conditions were perfect for him and he had a back spasm in the race, that set him back.”

Pinstriped was narrowly defeated first-up in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) last campaign then stunned Mr Brightside in the Memsie Stakes.

He disappointed in the Makybe Diva Stakes but recovered from the back complaint to run third in the Group 3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) third-up.

Pinstriped was not beaten far in the Champions Stakes (1600m) at Cranbourne Cup (1600m) at the end of the Group 1 breakthrough campaign.

Pinstriped has won five or seven career wins either first or second up.

The six-year-old son of Street Boss finished second to Mr Brightside in the 2023 PB Lawrence Stakes – their only other clash at 1400m.

Mr Brightside is a $2.50 favourite to win a ninth Group 1 and back-to-back CF Orr Stakes.

Pinstriped is rated an $11 chance with pre-nominations markets including Another Wil ($6) and last start Group 2 Australia Stakes winner Schwarz ($6).
