Stuart Kendrick knows with big price tags comes big expectations, so he is happy to shoot for the stars with million-dollar baby Redford.
The Sunshine Coast trainer is well aware of the gelding’s $1.05m Magic Millions price tag and said he has summer carnival aspirations for him, but isn’t putting the cart before the horse as he begins to move him through his grades.
Kendrick has the four-year-old entered both at Eagle Farm on Friday and Gold Coast on Saturday and said a decision on where he goes will be made later on as he deals with wide barriers, but is convinced by his level of class already.

Owned by breeding and racing giants Aquis, Redford began his career with Annabel Neasham, winning at Bathurst and Orange, before being moved on to Kendrick as a gelding.
“The expectations are pretty high when they come into the stable, you expect that,” Kendrick said.
“He is a lovely horse and he is still a bit green yet, he’s learning what it is all about.
“We are hoping he goes through Saturday grades pretty quickly, starting from this week.”
Kendrick concedes he isn’t without his quirks, but said he is quickly learning what it is all about and expects him to be a serious player in Queensland.
He believes the lucrative Magic Millions day in January isn’t out the picture should he continue on his winning ways.

“There are bigger and better things in the summer carnival for him if he can move through his grades,” Kendrick said.
“He was gelded and came to us, he had a couple of starts in western NSW and had some maturity issues, so we thought we’d have a look at him and see how he goes.
“We have quite a few for (Aquis) now and we have had a bit of luck.”
