Consistent galloper Right You Are has been retired.
It is due to a recurring suspensory ligament issue that forced the gelding to be on the sidelines for 18 months in 2021.
While not wining in his latest preparation as a seven-year-old, Right You Are raced in career best form having run fifth in both the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes and Caulfield Cup.
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Right You Are won 10 races in 27 starts with eight placings.
He retires having raked in just shy of $1.1m throughout his career with wins in the Mornington Cup and Australian Cup prelude.
Sad news with the retirement of our star galloper RIGHT YOU ARE. The suspensory ligament problem that cost him 18 months of his earlier career has again reared up and he will spend the rest of his days at breeder Steve Merriman's farm in NSW. What a fun ride he has given us!!!
